Good Quality & Fun For A Wide Age Range
We have a large friend/family group so when I found this, I was excited to see that you can have a larger number of players. The game itself is easy to learn, easy to set up/put away, and simple enough that you can let younger kids (ours are ages 2 & 4) participate and it still be fun for everyone. The quality of this product seems very durable - we’ve played several times and have had no skittles break or splinter so far (and this is with a 2 year-old chunking the throwing stick at them from 4 feet away). I read reviews that said your grass had to be extremely short for this to work and was worried, but it’s not been an issue with the grassy areas we’ve played in with average height grass. Also, the game says it’s for 2-6 players but we’ve had up to 9 people (ages 2 - 76) playing and it’s stayed manageable to keep the play going quickly and everyone had a blast! The carry-case and dry-erase scoreboard make it easy to bring with us and we really like that the scoreboard has an image of the skittle configuration on it to make set-up easy. The scoreboard only has room for up to 6 players - but if each player keeps track of their own score it’s not an issue to add more players.

Fun yard game
This was a great game to pick up for camping. Very basic set but done nicely. I've had it a while and it's lasting nicely. Worth the price for sure.

Good summer picnic game
The skittle scatter game arrived quickly in time for a big group picnic. (over 100 people) I was going to on the weekend. I HAD looked at the other Molkky / Viking bowling sets on Amazon. The Skittle Scatter set has a lot of good reviews where the others had many reviews that complained of the wood breaking after playing once or twice. I am so glad I got this set. Ive had no problems with it. No wood breaking after playing three games. We had a blast playing it and many people ( onlookers) were interested in what this game was and where to get it. I highly recommended this game. This one may have been a little more expensive than the others but is worth it. (You get what you pay for) it is well made and I think that the skittles being trimed at the top prevents damage. After a few games the throwing skittle did have a few scuff marks but this seems normal. The score board is really nice and has a diagram for setting up the skittles at the start of the game. The only cons: the dry erase marker was no good (dryed out?) And was easily replaced. A suggestion to the manufacturer: it would have been nice to have on the opposite side of the scoreboard a whole another scoreboard to record more than 6 players scores. I had another dry erase board to record scores in a 9 player game. Over all : a great game score 10 out of 10. Im bringing Skittle Scatter to my next picnic this weekend!Update: after many plays this summer 2021 at picnics and outdoor events.. every time Ive brought this game out it has been a hit with people wanting to play and a lot of fun. No problems with the components , no skittles boken or damaged, this is a good set.

This game is infectious
Since buying this game, I've gotten my brother and 2 friends to purchase their own copies. Addictive, easy to learn, and eye-catching. People in parks stop and ask me what game this is, and after I explain the rules they want to play a game.I bought this specific copy of the game because it had the best Amazon reviews and seemed to be pretty sturdy. I say I've played about 15 games so far and all of my Skittles are intact, there has been some very minor chipping on some tops but that is to be expected. The Mölkky itself is in good condition also, granted it has scuff marks and grass stains which I treat as a badge of honor as to how much love this game has been getting.I find the original rules to be a little harsh though, so I've come up with an "American" variant: each turn, you have 3 chances to hit the skittle(s), and if you miss all 3 throws you simply get a 0 and your turn is over. Players are not eliminated if they score 0 three times in a row. The first person to score 50 points triggers the end game: you finish the current round (so every player has had an equal number of turns) and any other players who are able to reach 50 points in a single throw are allowed to take a final turn. If any other player(s) reach 50 points before the game ends, you enter Sudden Death. During Sudden Death, players who reached 50 points during the final round are trying to get the highest score (the 3-strike rule is still in effect), and at the end of a Sudden Death round, if one player has more points than the other player(s) still in the game, they immediately win. Otherwise, you continue playing until someone scores higher than everyone else.

Molkky at its best
Skittle scatter (more commonly known as Molkky) is a great outdoor game. It can be played with a wide range of abilities and number of players both as individuals or as teams. The fun of throwing things and knocking things over is the first immediate impression. The scoring mechanism, a single pin scores its number of points or multiple pins score the number of pins knocked over, leads to some Fun and unexpected results. Finally the rule requiring exactly 50 points puts pressure on the leader and allows others time to catch up so almost all games have a good kind of tension to the very end. Lastly this can be played with many different skill levels and ages as rules are easily adapted to the player. For instance, we allowed our youngest family members to throw from a much shorter distance and to throw until they hit a pin. Whereas the adults threw from a longer distance and had only one throw per turn. The GoSports Skittle Scatter version of this game is very well done. The wooden components are all well made and smoothly sanded. The carrying bag keeps everything bundled and seems strong enough to last for years. The detail of cutting the top edge off is a nice addition and will save the pins from splintering in the future. The weight of the wood has a nice heft and makes throwing easy. Having a score board is great because there is a constantly changing score that is not easy to just keep in your mind.I highly recommend Molkky as a game and the GoSports Skittle Scatter is an excellent version at a very reasonable price.
