Great photo frame!
I got this for my not-very-tech-savvy mom. (She requested a photo frame as a gift.) I like that you create an email address for the frame so anyone can send pictures directly to the frame. If I recall, it might take a few minutes for new pictures to arrive or you have to refresh it for them to enter the queue. It is sensitive to power surges. So if the power goes out even for a second or two, this will turn on by itself when the power is restored.

Awesome way to share photos with family
Love these frames. I have purchased 3 of them. Easy to share photos with family that live far away. Fun to see new photos of them when they send new photos to my frame!

Excellent Frame - Easy to Use
I wanted to get a WiFi digital frame for my parents and did a lot of research including reading many customer reviews of different options. The PixStar frame was highly rated on Tom's Guide and I've found that source to be a good one in the past so I went with it and I am so happy. Here are some things I love:*The frame is super easy to set up and operate - I set it up at my house on my WiFi and tested it out before sending it to my parents and it worked great. I was able to easily switch it to their WiFi when I went to visit. That being said, my parents are not all that tech savvy, so I had to do the setup. I did try to walk them through connecting to the WiFi over a phone conversation but that was very difficult and did not work very well. To me it was not hard - but it may seem hard to those who are not used to working with things like that.*The frame has an option to just "Play All" and automatically receive making it so my parents do not have to do anything but sit and enjoy. When pictures come, they just show up! My parents love being able to see the pictures and have new ones to look at without having to touch anything.*I can control the frame remotely from my computer even though I live miles away.*It is easy to send pictures through an e-mail attachment or the PixStar app on my phone.*It looks nice and the pictures come through looking good. Some things to consider:*Size. I got the 10" frame and it works well. It is a nice size for a desk but I thought the picture display area would be a little bigger. The next size up, though seems quite big. We can see the pictures fine on the 10-inch but if you want clarity from across the room for people with limited eyesight then a larger frame might be better. They are happy with the size because it isn't too big and they can see it. My observation though is that if there's room for a larger size where they want to put it then maybe go up.*The weather option only shows if the user selects it and plays Web Albums. I could not get it to show in the Play All mode. My parents would have had to go and select it from the menu on Web Albums. So, we do not use the weather.*This frame has A LOT of other options! It has music, games, calendar, etc. I have not used any of those because really my parents just want to see the pictures so that is all we use on it but it works well for that.*Videos may or may not play. I haven't really tried it. There seem to be some options, but we've only done pictures. I sent a picture from my phone that had been taken in bursts and it came through as a movie and the frame played the first shot then put a message saying it couldn't play the video. So I converted the first shot to a JPEG and it was fine. I don't know what it would do with an actual video. We haven't tried that yet.Overall I am very pleased with this frame and so are my parents. They spend hours watching it and it is so enjoyable for them and comforting for me to know they like to watch it. I love being able to send up-to-date pictures and have them just show up. It may take up to 5 minutes sometimes, but it is pretty quick.I hope this review is helpful for anyone looking to purchase a WiFi digital frame.

Great customer service
I've had an old frame for approximately 8 to 9 years and finally it died. The pictures were Irreplaceable and I was frantic to get those back. I had to order the new frame and registered it but could not download my pictures to the new frame. I contacted customer service and they were able to do that through the cloud and I got all my valuable pictures back. The new frame is dramatically improved over the old technology and I couldn't be happier. This is one of the best experiences with customer service I've ever had. They were great

Solid option compared to underwhelming competitors
I ordered this Pix-star 10" frame after being gifted (and then returning) a less expensive competitors frame that just plain didn't work. Before ordering I did some research to try to make sure I wouldn't be returning a second frame, and I believe I made the right choice. This frame was easy to setup, easy to connect to WI-FI, easy to load pictures onto using an SD card or from their webpage. I especially appreciate the SD card support as I'm an avid photographer and its easy for me to copy photos from my computer to the SD card and then plugin the card. The competing frames I looked at either don't support SD cards, or in the case of a competitors frame that I returned, claimed to support an SD card but wouldn't actually read it when I put it into the frame. On the Pix-star I put the SD card in (make sure to push it until it springs) and it immediately offered to start a slide-show with the photos... simple, easy.I was also able to connect the frame to my Flickr account using the pix-star webpage, and it seamlessly copied my photostream to the frames internal memory. The included remote control is a appreciated, and I think superior to touchscreens for this purpose... I've got touchscreens in my car and my wife and kids have ipads.... the one thing they all have in common: fingerprints. Who would want fingerprints all over a picture frame? Remote is a definite winner. There are some drawbacks, but I think they're easier to deal with than the shortcomings of their competitors:The screen resolution is just o.k.. I get the argument that a 10" screen doesn't need to be ultra-high resolution, but this is clearly just an average screen. I would've bought the 15" except that appears to also be 1024x768 which is just laughable for a screen that size in 2024.... for the 10" its o.k.The interface in the frame could use some fine tuning... why is "brightness control" (which adjusts screen brightness) under "auto on/off"? Also, I much preferred the dashboard menu (accessed by clicking the "back" button while in the slideshow) to the side menu. It would also be nice on the section where you can enable/disable transitions if it would preview what those transitions are so I know what I'm turning on or off. The webpage is a bit dated as well. The include a few sample images on the frame when you buy it, I assume for demo purposes, but for a brief moment I wondered if I was seeing someone elses photos. I would not include these when the user clicks the regular "play slideshow" button... hide them in a demo feature or something. As of the writing of this review, integration with Facebook is not working (per above, Flickr works fine). I got an error saying the "app is not active" and "the developer is aware". This wasn't a big deal since since I just downloaded my albums to the SD card (I could have also copied them from the computer back to the dashboard after downloading)... but I do hope they fix it nonetheless.Despite these drawbacks, I do recommend this picture frame. It's easy to use, the display is good enough, and the features are good! If they fix some of the shortcomings in a future version I'd happily buy a second one for my house and have them in two rooms.
