The product is well made and is very useful. It goes through 18-22 quite easily. It will go thicker, but gets a bit more troublesome. Just note that it says 8", but it won't cut an 8" wide strip. Also note that this is NOT an open throat, so you can't just 'walk' the metal to cut it. These aren't complaints, just a note to potential purchasers.I would easily recommend this for the uses that it is made for.

For someone who is starting out in their jewelry business and looking for things that will work until I can get traction, this sheer is pretty great. I did have to add some felt on the bottom of the "foot" that holds the metal while you cut it so it doesn't scratch my metal, but that was a simple fix. Other than that, I have no complaints. It is going great. I would recommend this for any other jeweler who is starting out and looking for a value replacement to the big priced sheers out there.

This was a gift for my jewelry artist partner. She loves it once She got over the size of it. Cuts flawlessly and is very easy to use. I could have gotten by with a 6" but the 8" leaves no doubt that it will cut most anything!!

Absolutely love this! I cut sheet copper for jewelry making and this shear is worth it’s weight in gold!!! Cuts through sheet metal like butter! Heavy duty and well made.

The unit is great but should be spring loaded arrived without spring installed it was loose not installed instead of sending replacement they want me to ship back and get repaired takes a week and we are using the defective unit so cant stop work and send back
