Don't cut and splice your wires in your vehicle. Buy the matching Wiring Harness that you splice the radio in to and plug into the stock plug on the vehicle. Cutting your wires in your vehicle is setting yourself up for failure.

Does it also work with steering wheel phone controls?

How much lag time is there, if any, in the controls after installing this (compared to OEM)? And does anyone know if that is Head Unit dependent?

i installed it on a 2006 4Runner...no problems whatsoever...i dont believe its HU specific bc i ordered it before the HU...i have no lag time on the steering controls...its the same as with the oem HU. barely a second.
