My kids love beaker creatures but the pods are little expensive to get all of the time and I don’t want to amass too many. You are able to make new pods with the creatures you already have. The kids love doing the “experiments”; following the directions, measuring, pouring. The “experiments” are easy and not too messy. This is also a great gift.

My 6 yr old looooooves his beaker creatures. We have a few different sets. The experiments are cute and age-appropriate. As other reviewers have warned, though, the cost does not stop with this one set (though I guess it could, technically). Your child will want to find more creatures, which means you'll have to buy more reactor pods. So the cost can add up. But they really are fun to do.

We were so excited when this kit arrived. We have enjoyed Learning Resources in the past and were excited to jump in. But not so fast! Almost all of the experiments required addition items like glue, corn starch, and more. However it does state that you can use common household ingredients. Most of which we had on hand like conditioner, but not corn starch. Thankfully most of the items needed were inexpensive or we already had. Sp once we did start it was a lot of fun. Educational and fun, so that is a win win in my book. A great way to keep young minds sharp this summer!

My 9 year old son loved this toy. The egg took a while to dissolve which made me happy. It got a little messy but wiped up no problem and of course, my son didn't mind the mess. Once he got to the creature, he thought it was fun finding the "kind" that it was, especially when it turned out to be "rare." Overall, a fun toy and we will likely be getting more to add to the collection.

I ordered this for my 6 year-old grandson and here’s his mom’s text: “The alien experiment lab was a big hit. One of his favorites so far.” He has several of their Beaker Creatures” kits and more than 40 of the various pods - and at his upcoming party each kid will place a pod in a reactor and take the creature home. He loves to play scientist - and the fizzing, eruption of colors, and cool creatures to collect are stimulating and perfect for a 6 year-old boy!!

My negative review is partly my fault; i should have read more closely to realize this kit does not come with any slime or ingredients to make slime which i assumed it did. So basically you get 2 beaker creatures and a plastic “lab” you have to set up and then provide your own slime. Pretty disappointing for a kid who wants to just open a toy and play with what’s pictured on the box (slime). I wound up returning it because it didn’t seem worth building the plastic lab when we didn’t have any slime on hand to use. So if you buy, keep that in mind. I think for the price it should have come with a small container.

This was a perfect rainy day surprise for my kids (ages 6 and 9). They loved it! The kit includes a book full of “experiments” that were easy for the kids to follow and mostly used items you may already have on hand in your house! The slime experiment made the “best slime ever” according to my 9 year old.

my 5 year old loves experiments and this kit is great for that! it is age appropriate, creative and encourages him to use his imagination. he wants to do a new experiment every day! def will be getting this as gifts for other kids in the same age range!
