After having bought this product multiple times over the last few years in 6 or 12 lb packages this time the quality appeared off. Upon opening the bag the contents had a smell resembling saw dust and on the inside of the bag there were small treads of what looked like spider silk. Can not return this product per Amazon policy and so far have not received any response from the supplier or Amazon regarding a refund or a replacement 6 lb package assuming this quality problem is a one off.

This product is uniformly consistent, and it appears to be fresh and free of contamination. It didn't work for me quite as well as the type of bran I'd been buying for years because it is more finely ground. Most wheat bran has larger flakes. But because it did work well enough, and I can't get the kind I like in quantity these days because of the wheat bran shortage, I recently ordered a 25-pound bag.

I was wary to purchase this wheat bran because other reviews say it’s too powdery. Well, it’s not flaky like other brands i like, but it’s not a fine powder. The consistency is more like coarse powder. I used it in my no bake protein+fiber bars, and it works great for digestion, along with prunes, banana, chia seed, cocoa powder, and nuts I added to my bars.
