I have a four legged escape artist that I’m finally able to keep safely locked in! You wouldn’t believe this pup’s ability to get in and out of places! Windows have to be locked (not just closed, LOCKED), and he knows how to unlock and open all sorts of doors. I initially bought a latch that was glued to the door and it didn’t take him long to rip it off. Then I tried a latch similar to the ones in hotels but it didn’t work in my door because the frame isn’t exactly flat with the door, it comes up a fraction of an inch. This lock reinforcement saved the day! Easy to install and to use, it should keep children and pets in and intruders out. With holes for four screws it’s very sturdy and reliable. Big fan!

I had to put a lock on an upstairs outer wooden door, and I thought it would look ugly. This lock looks great and is super easy to install. We put it high enough so little ones couldn't reach it. It is easy to unlock by an adult.

This lock is pretty awesome. Quick install, easy to use, and very sturdy. So sturdy, the wife locked me out a few times and the door doesn’t budge. Only downfall was it lasted just about 9 months installed.It started out smooth, but then at about 3-4 months in, it started to get rough swinging the latch to lock it. Today, it locked up like the spring inside broke and it won’t lock all the way. Had to take another tool to pry it open.Good news is that it came with a pair of locks. I just swapped it out and we’re back in business. I’d still buy it again for $10 for a pair.

Let me just start by saying I couldn’t be happier with this product.We live in an apartment with only a deadbolt lock that can be opened from the outside with a key, and no alternative inside locking mechanism that cannot be accessed from the outside.We bought this mainly out of concern that maintenance and managerial staff have keys to our door. And while that shouldn’t be an issue, it still just isn’t very comforting knowing our only lock is technically very vulnerable if a key were to fall into the wrong hands.I was a little skeptical of this little lock at first, but once I read reviews and understood how it works, I decided to go for it.Let me just say, this thing is a no brainer. Especially for folks in a situation similar to mine, but an excellent choice for anyone looking for extra security. I’ll sleep much more soundly at night now.I was able to install it in less than 5 minutes with a pencil, a drill, a drill bit, and a Phillips head screwdriver bit. The instructions left a little to be desired, but if you have eyes, and are able to process thoughts you’ll be able to figure this out no problem.The nice thing for people that live in apartments and are worried about drilling holes is - the 4 holes you need for this are hidden within the door casing and aren’t visible unless the door is open. Even then, they’re barely noticeable if you ever decide to remove it. You could simply wood putty, and paint and there would be no evidence this was ever there.Now to get to the good stuff. This thing is SOLID. There’s no way anyone is getting by this without destroying the entire door and casing along with it. And it’s also extremely easy to engage and disengage. I did substitute the included screws for 3 inch screws for a little extra security. The included screws were a bit short for my liking but I’m sure would have worked just fine.If you’re looking for a bit of extra peace of mind, this little guy is for you.I considered subtracting a star for the less then stellar instructions and shorter than desired screws. But as I stated before, this thing is a no brainer to install and common sense easily supplements what the instructions lack. And when it comes down to it the screws were personal preference. Its understandable that this needs to appeal to a wide array of applications so the screws need to reflect that. It’s easy and cheap enough to pick up a box of 3 inch screws (if you somehow don’t already have a box laying around) if you so choose, and use those instead. I can’t really deduct stars for that.All in all. Would buy again, and will be recommending to everyone I can who may be in need of a similar solution.
