Reliable Replacement Float Switch – Easy Installation and Customizable
After discovering water in my basement due to a failed float switch, I purchased the Superior Pump 92010 Vertical Float Switch as a replacement. Installation was straightforward, and I was able to adjust it to the necessary depth for my sump pump. The switch has been functioning effectively since installation, providing peace of mind during heavy rains. I appreciate its universal design, which is compatible with various sump and utility pumps. Overall, a dependable product that meets expectations.

Does what it says
Works as intended. This float switch is being used as a piggyback on the sump pump to override the built-in float switch which has a range of 4". My sump pump runs about 800 times a day and I want to minimize the number of runs by increasing the operating height range. With this switch I am able to get about 6" (which amounts to about 500 runs a day), but wish it was able to do up to about 10".The usual life span is about 18-months which amounts to about 250,000 - 275,000 on/off cycles. Not bad for a typical sump pump application, but I sure would welcome more use cycles.

Almost perfect for my needs!
I'm not sure how common this problem is, but I had a hard time finding a good solution. Our washer drains into our basement utility sink. Our utility sink requires a pump to drain because it is below the waste water pipe in our house. The previous owner had installed a pump, wired to a manual wall switch, which works fine, but the utility sink doesn't have enough capacity for a wash and rinse cycle, so we had to turn the pump on after the wash cycle, before the rinse cycle caused an overflow for each load of laundry. We even asked a plumber and he said we either need to babysit the laundry or get an expensive automatic pump.I knew there had to be some kind of switch we could use, but I don't have much experience with electronic plumbing issues, so it took me a few days to figure out the right search terms to solve my problem. Because our pump is plugged into an outlet controlled by a switch, we were able to plug the pump through this pump switch and then just leave the wall switch turned on. Now, when the water gets close to the top of the utility sink, the pump switch turns on the pump and drains most of the water before automatically turning off again. Now, we can run the washer without paying attention. It always drains enough to prevent overflow. My only complaint about this pump switch is that it doesn't have a manual override. The switch turns back off before the sink is totally drained, so I have to manually hold the switch on while the bottom few inches of water drain, so I don't keep a pool of dirty in the sink all the time. I put a rubber band on it that I can use to hold the switch on while I move the laundry, but it would be nice if there was a real switch.

Still Working A Year Later
I replaced the switch on my older sump pump for this one. The old switch had become unreliable and wouldn't always trigger the sump to start. Thankfully I have a backup pump in the same hole and when it goes off, an alarm beeps for a little while. I noticed that it kept failing, so I thought I would try a new switch before replacing the whole pump, seems like a waste if I can just put in a new switch. The switch was very easy to install and looked exactly like the old one. Took maybe 5 minutes to 'switch' it out. It wasn't raining, so it took a while before I could allow the switch to test out 'naturally;' although, manually flipping it was working as expected. As the headline states, it has been over a year and the backup hasn't triggered since, the switch seems to be working just as expected.Easy to install and works, no problem recommending.

ULTIMATE IN SIMPLICITY AND RELIABILITY
I have 3 other float switches that I've given up on, as they can be set to turn on reliably but not to turn off reliably. This Superior float switch is 100 % reliable because of its simple design with small size for compact sumps and infinite adjustment ability for both pump ON and for Pump OFF.... and... it works every time.

good product I am happy with it so far.
I have tried a couple of the corded ball floats with the switch inside and had very poor luck with then. They seem unreliable. This switch works perfect for me. I have an 8 ft deep sump. I have a piece of the shelving channelthat is about half in wide which I attached the switch to. then attached that to the side of the sump hole.I can easily lift it out to adjust the switch or it's position on the channel. The switch itself is easily adjustable. The cord is long enough for the 8 ft.It should last a long time it is plastic but as long as you don't abuse it there should be no problem. If I have any issues I will edit the post . Also will update at the end of the season to verify that it still is working .
