Brings Back Wonderful Childhood Memories
I just received the two Swedish Angel Chimes in the mail today. I notice several people talking about how flimsy these are. I have had Angel Chimes since I was a little girl (I am 59, so we're talking quite a while ago), and these are exactly the same as the ones I remember.Just to help everybody who gets these, let me tell you how to put them together for maximum chimes. If you are not handy (like me), you probably will need to find someone who is because even though it looks like you can put them together easily, over the years we have found that we need a pair of pliers. Before you start, lay out all the pieces on the table. When inserting the main column, it is extremely important that they go in and then using the end of the pliers, push the metal around the insertion points down until it can't move. Once the middle column is snugly in place, the rest of the pieces can be assembled. Once done, we have found that all of the moving and jostling moves the middle column. In order for the chimes to work, that column is the most important part of the set. Using the pliers, move the column until it is centered again (sort of like putting up a live Christmas tree!). The first candles are the most difficult, because using the pliers once again, you will have to move various pieces of the set in order to get them to just the right place for them to spin away. Also, there is a time lag in the beginning because they need to heat up the space around them and the metal in order for the little angels to spin and ring those chimes.I hope this helps you all a little bit. It has taken me years to learn how to get the maximum fun out of these wonderful Christmas items. As for them being flimsy, these are actually sturdier then ones I paid $60 a piece for at a little Christmas store in town! I could not be happier with these Angel Chimes. I never got my last pair to work right, no matter what we did. But these are better made (and less expensive!). I am grateful to this seller for the pristine shape these were in out of the box. The heat from the candles WILL warp the metal over time, so keep those pliers handy! I bought several boxes of candles from their website as well and they all came in today. I am sitting here writing this to the lovely tinkling of Angel Chimes so reminiscent of my childhood. I hope others who buy these can overcome their unhappiness of these Chimes. This is how they are. And I am looking forward to this Christmas season accented by my wonderful little spinning angels.

Swedish Angel Chimes made in Turkey
These Chimes are the real deal from the 60s and 70s. Don't buy the cheaper Chinese made Chimes, the Brass is much thinner and poorly constructed. The Swedish Chimes actually ring the bells and spin around with the proper candles. The Chinese made Chimes don't spin half the time and tarnish easily from the candles. The bases of the Swedish Chimes where the candles go is also much thicker and safer. The Chinese base is too thin and transfers heat to the surface of the table, also the candles fall out of the Chimes, a real fire danger. The Swedish Chimes are much easier to clean the wax off the base, as not much falls off the candles.

Overpriced for a defective chime, needs improvement
This chime is lovely to look at BUT has flaws. The space between the two pointers that hold the bells on mine are too far apart. I had to bend the bell inwards on one side to make any kind of contact with the rod on the reindeer. The chime would have to be going at full speed to make the slightest contact with it otherwise. As most of us know this chime doesn’t go full speed at the best of times so I had to improvise and bend my brand new chime! On top of that the chime quits turning after the candles are half burnt down to its wick. So I had a lone dinger until the candles were half done, then just lit candles for the rest.I spent over an hour trying to get it working correctly.I think this product needs some tinkering OR quality control needs an upgrade!I don’t recommend this product until it has fixed the product issues. I have one of the old versions of this chime and I never had this many issues with it.

Just as I remembered
The media could not be loaded. I remember my mother having something like this from many years ago when I was much younger. I found this one and ordered it. It did not disappoint. Assembly was a little tricky, but not too difficult. You just have to be careful with the pieces. The metal is thin and light so that it can spin from the candle power. I noticed in the comments that many people mentioned that it needs a pointed metal piece to spin properly. The piece we received was pointed and the device spins easily. Light the candles and give it a gentle nudge to start the spinning motion. The tinkling bells are just enough to hear but are not too much. We will enjoy this during our Christmas celebrations.

Easy fix if they don't spin....
Product is a little more flimsy that the one I remember my mother having, but still brings back memories of childhood. Couldn't get them to spin initially, but after some research I took the silver metal pin that goes inside the cone part and filed the tip into a point like a pencil...when assembling, make sure the point end of the silver pin points up into the cone. Works like a charm and also resolved the issue of the angels not ringing the bells hard enough, because they spin harder and the strikers swing outward. Satisfied with product...would give 5 stars if the metal rod came filed to a point already!

Beautiful little chime.
I remembered these from my childhood. I ordered one for me and one for my brother, they are sweet, chime nicely, but blow through the candles in no time. Looking for other options of candles.
