This router is great! Set up is not easy, support from Asus is NILL! When you start with the config of the router, be sure to make lots of notes. The set up (configuration) isn't specific enough so your notes will have to be close to perfect.There is the Router Admin Name and password, the Router Name and password, Wi-Fi Network Name and password as well as your Log in Name. But most of all, if you have guests and they need Wi-Fi, then you will need to create a guest Password. Should I mention there is a 2.4 and 5.0 for Wi-Fi and direct connect via Cat 5.In all it can be frustrating as hell, but the benefits are great!

Fairly easy set up, but just make sure you download they app before unplugging your old router. You need the app to set up the router. Overall I don't notice a difference in speed but now I won't get a $10 monthly charge from my internet company.

Good product. Don't really have much to complain about with it. Only 2 problems. 1. Needs better Wi-Fi range. And 2. The settings login needs to be more updated, along with logging into it. Otherwise, it's connection is pretty good. The connection does sort of drop a little here and there, but it just doesn't do the greatest through apartment walls. Still a good choice, though. Definitely recommend buying.

This router was a replacement for a 6-7-year-old Archer TP Link router. Because I had just replaced my computer and wanted the fastest possible speed, I decided to replace my router. In other router reviews, I had read that activating a latest generation Archer TP Link router required the purchaser to sign up for some kind of subscription service to receive the full benefits of router ownership. So I decided to buy an Asus router instead because it didn’t have that requirement and also guaranteed lifelong security coverage.I viewed and re-viewed several YouTube videos to learn the in’s and out’s of setting up this Asus router. I learned from these videos that the process would be much more complicated than it had been with the two other routers that I had owned. (I assume that is because the technology has advanced since I acquired my previous router 6 or 7 years ago.).Although I managed to get through all the choices without any issues, one option stymied me. Apparently, there is an Asus idiosyncrasy that makes it very complicated to select the restriction to https. (as opposed to http) websites only. It was so confusing to me, a relatively unsophisticated technology user, to do the complicated steps to opt for this seemingly more secure restriction, that I decided to ignore that set-up variable and allow my security software to handle the job of protecting me from questionable websites. Perhaps it is naive of me to not close this possible vulnerability. I will continue to research this issue and seek advice as well. Other than that caveat, after viewing the YouTube videos, the set-up process was much easier than it would have been otherwise.The router has functioned well since installation. However, I found that one very important device in my home disappeared from the list of connected devices after briefly appearing there initially. I examined the cat5 Ethernet cables that had been attached to my old router for wear and decided that they could be causing the connection problem. So I ordered new cat6 ethernet cables to replace all the old ones connected to the router. (Our house is hard wired, so there were 4 LAN cables and one WAN cable replaced.)The missing device returned to the list of connected devices! My advice to anyone replacing a very old router is to replace all the connecting cables with newer generation, unused cables.One other area of confusion is whether the name and password for one’s ASUS account should be different from the name and password used for one’s home WiFi network. I believe that they should be different.ASUS technical support was very good. The techs patiently answered my questions. I plan to call them with my question about setting up https: only connection ability.The router looks like a drone and has the option of a wide range of colors on the front. Gamers will love these features, in my opinion.

Plugged in, check. Turned on, check. Worked out of the box, check. Great wireless range.

Got this to help boost my wifi from my crappy Xfinity hub and it has helped 10x. Speeds in my "dead zones" have 5x overnight! The app is awesome for updates, setup and security as well. I can block or allow anyone from joining as well!
