Easy Water Changes
The media could not be loaded. I recently purchased the Aqueon LED MiniBow Small Aquarium Fish Tank Kit with SmartClean Technology in black, 5-gallon size, for my high school math classroom, and I couldn't be happier with it! It has quickly become a wonderful addition, providing a calming and engaging presence for my students.Setting up the tank was a breeze. The kit comes with everything you need to get started, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The black trim gives it a sleek and professional look that fits perfectly in a classroom setting. The size is ideal – large enough to comfortably house our little community (a beautiful beta, two adorable loaches, a fascinating mystery snail, and even some surprise snail babies!), yet compact enough not to take up too much precious desk space. What truly sets this tank apart is the SmartClean Technology. Honestly, as a busy teacher, the thought of constant tank maintenance was a little daunting. However, the SmartClean system is a game-changer! Being able to perform partial water changes quickly and easily with the integrated drain tube has saved me so much time and effort. It’s a simple and effective way to keep the water quality high for our aquatic inhabitants. The LED lighting is also a fantastic feature. It provides a bright and natural-looking illumination that really makes the colors of our fish and the lush live plants pop. It creates a visually appealing environment that the students (and I!) love to observe. Speaking of plants, the 5-gallon size provides ample space to create a thriving planted aquarium, which not only looks beautiful but also contributes to a healthier ecosystem for our little critters. Our beta seems very content exploring his domain, and the loaches love to wiggle amongst the plant roots. Even the snails seem to be thriving! The gentle hum of the filter is barely noticeable, which is important in a classroom environment where we need to minimize distractions. This Aqueon LED MiniBow has been more than just a fish tank; it's become a focal point for learning and observation. The students are fascinated by the little ecosystem we've created, and it has sparked some great impromptu discussions about biology, responsibility, and even patience! It's been a wonderful way to bring a little bit of nature into the classroom.Overall, I highly recommend the Aqueon LED MiniBow Small Aquarium Fish Tank Kit with SmartClean Technology. It's a fantastic value, easy to set up and maintain, and provides a beautiful and healthy environment for small aquatic pets. It has been a truly positive addition to my classroom and I'm so glad I chose this tank!

AWESOME 5 GALLON AQUARIUM.
no problem here. recieved in great condition. well packaged. also test aquarium first for leakage in bathtub, no leaks. easy to set up with light hood, bottom base for tank to rest on. directions very clear to understand. bing bang boom all done. will need to buy other things, that did not come w/tank. thats ok. i am not new to aquariums, i always perform fishless cycling to establish the nitrogen cycle. when water parameters reads right, then i do the eldropo w/fish. overall nice lil tank, if i run into filter problems, will buy new filter. nuff said:)

Love this tank (with a few slight mods)
The media could not be loaded. I really love this minibow easy clean tank!! It’s got a sleek look, the filter is pretty quiet, doesn’t cause very much current at all & the original lighting was adequate :)Now for a more in depth overview…The 5 gallon is great to spoil a betta! Please please don’t put a betta in anything smaller than 2.5 gallons.. I know they can survive but they won’t thrive & with decorations you’re reducing the actual water volume more & more. For example while this is 5 gallons with my plethora of enrichment decorations it actually only took 4 gallons to fill & that was pushing it the water line is almost to the very top lol.The tank itself while plastic is very sturdy although I didn’t use the bottom stand piece. It gives the tank an extra elevated look for sure but since I was putting it on a small table & I have 3 large dogs I wanted the extra stability of putting it directly on the table. Also regardless of size you’re gonna need a heater. I live in south Florida but keep my house cold at night. I didn’t realize til I did a lil experiment when soaking my tank decorations just how cold water gets quickly even not near a fan or vent & then it stays cold. You can get one for cheap that auto turns on & off to keep the water at a steady temp (mines so small you can barely see it behind the filter input). The light on this tank was adequate but it is super basic. I knew this when purchasing & also knew it’s not what I wanted so I replaced it with a 7 inch LED bar for cheap so now I’ve got a dimmable, timeable, color changing light that really elevates the tank imo.Water changes have never been easier & for people saying the spout is too short to do them… uhm it extends out any basic container can fit. I use a wide lipped 5 gal bucket & even that still works, do I have to tilt it a bit? Yes but it’s still doable & much easier than any water change I’ve ever done in any tank before this so quit complaining. I don’t find the current from the filter to be very strong at all, you can see in my video my silicone plants barely move & my floating diver stays in one spot. So it’s perfectly fine for a betta. My Disco is a cup baby rescue so of course it’s caused him some minor issues the first few days in his new home but he’s already much stronger & in a few more days it’ll be like there’s no current at all for him!I also found the filter intake to look fairly safe right out the box. It’s completely covered on all sides with pretty tiny slits. Even my betta Disco is a bit on the smaller side & he’d be fine but after some of the review horror stories I put a sponge filter on top of it just as a an extra safety precaution lol. So if you’ve got fish smaller than a betta or shrimp in here I’d suggest doing the same. The cheap & great ones I got that fit almost perfectly were from Amazon (AQUANEAT 6-Pack Pre-Filter Sponge for Aquarium Shrimp Fry Fish Tank Filter 0.6" Intake, Replacement Foam Cover).
