Intermatic HB112 Heavy-Duty Plug-in AC and Appliance Timer 240 VAC Timer

I use this for my 2 HP Lawn irrigiation motor, and it works perfectly. Only complaint is that on and off is limited to no less than 45 minutes, if you set for less than that what ever you have plugged in will tend to stay on, as it "skips over the off cycle. Set the red and black tabs for more than 45 minutes and you are golden. Comes with enough to do 2 on and off cycles in 24 hour period.

I had to install it upside down because my wall plug is upside down. 🤪 But it fit in the space as I hoped it would, and works just fine upside down! Wish it had come with more pins so I’d have more than two on/off time slots, but it’s great at night and I can adjust the pins for daytime on/off if I won’t be home during the hot part of the day.

I purchased the timer HB112 to replace a previous one that went bad. The one I got worked for about three weeks and I requested a replacement. The replacement went bad about two weeks after. Also, I could not send it back to Amazon, as the local UPS station refused to accept Amazon returns due to QR requirement changes. I always considered Intermatic products to be of first quality, but I guess time changes. Still, I may be ending up buying the fourth one.

I bought this timer to use with a split AC unit. The AC has it's own timing function, but it does not repeat. This timer repeats - AC on in the day, and AC off at night. I checked the AC amperage draw before purchasing timer, AC is 6 A, and timer is 8 A (for AC use). I also checked the AC plug for compatibility. Instructions on back of timer says it needs to be reset after power failure. (It does not have an internal battery). 4 timing clips included. Timer is easy to set, but the clock times are not super accurate. I did not try the fine tuning knob. In service one month without problems.

Good value for the money. This model lasts about two years for me, running a 1/4 hp compressor every day for 6 months per year.

Unit works as advertised have it controlling my 220 V AC compressor; It’s just that it can’t read my mind and turn off when I’m trying to start my generator during a power outage — the generator overloads on that compressor because it’s only 10 KW

The timer works but does not keep time when power is interrupted. I found out when I put a camera in the room that it had lost over an hour on one and 45 minutes on another so I junked these and purchased digital timers. If timing is important these are not good if you can't see these to reset the time.

It works just like my timers for lights. I bought it for my wall A/C unit. Having rescued a dog, I found it extremely important (obviously) to cool down my place while I was at work. So nice to come home to a cool home. Highly recommend,
