I have only had this keyboard for a couple of days so I can't speak to its longevity. However it seems very well built so I have some confidence in that area.What I do like straight away is the key action. I have always used Apple keyboards and have always liked them, but this has all the good stuff and improved on them IMO. The action has a little more travel and touch which I find helps to identify when you may have struck too lightly to register a letter. In comparison Apple's keyboard has less sensitivity and gives no feedback to touch. This one has a confirming slight click to the stroke and a discreet old fashioned key sound that lets you know you have registered your key stroke correctly. I have no problem with double ket hits as others have said, rather I have had far less missed keystrokes. Bluetooth connection is fast and consistent and the ten step keyboard backlight is very useful, although I find the light leak around the sides of the keyboard a little distracting but again, no biggey. I haven't decided on using the keyboard raising pads yet and I think there could be a more elegant solution than stick on bumpers. The range of control keys for volume, apps and other things is also useful as is the ability to go wireless or tethered via the USB-C cord that also charges.If the keyboard has longevity which I think it will, its a no brainer great deal at a much better price than Apple's equivalent.

I bought this to support a new MAC Mini4. It's bluetooth connectivity with the computer is immediate and lasting. The keyboard feels exactly like an Apple brand keyboard. It is a pleasure to use. The keyboard comes with rubber feet you can stick to the bottom so you can elevate the front edge if desired. There's no reason to purchase an Apple keyboard in my opinion. I would purchase this again.

I was looking for a wireless backlit full size keyboard, and there aren't a lot of options out there. I had been using a MX Keys model, which generally worked well, but the backlight goes off after only a few second of idle time. This was very irritating as I need to look at the keyboard frequently while using it, and in low light. This Satechi provides a much longer backlight timeout, and I am happy to trade a somewhat shorter battery life for that. I am happy with the feel of the keys, seems quite similar to those in my MacBook Pro. Bluetooth seems to connect quickly and reliably. I also like that it can be used in a wired mode, which the MX Keys could not.Now for the drawbacks. (1) It shows a battery level in my Bluetooth settings, but it always shows 100%, no matter what, so not helpful. (2) As the battery level goes down, it will start turning off the backlight faster, and when I start typing again, the backlight doesn't come back on until I manually turn it up. While this makes some sense, it starts happening long before the low battery indicator comes on, I estimate even before it approaches 50%. I can't tell for sure because the keyboard doesn't properly report the battery level through Bluetooth. This makes the battery life effectively a lot shorter, forcing me to recharge more often, and not giving me any prior warning. (3) The backlighting is rather uneven with some keys, plus there is a lot of distracting light leakage around many of the keys. This varies significantly depending on your viewing angle. (4) The round rubber stick on "legs" to tip up the keyboard are lame and permanent. There should be some kind of flip out legs like other keyboards.I would rate this at 3.5 if possible.

I was so excited when I purchased this. It connected easily. Everything worked as advertised. Quality seemed great, overall sturdy. Keys feel almost identical to Apple pro 2. The problems: Recently Some of the keys don't function anymore. Also backlight doesn't work either. It did function but as of a week ago, All these problems started happening. I called around and it seems that it cost more to fix than to buy a new one. Didn't even last 6 months. smh

I’ve had this keyboard for 6 months now and I can’t work without it, well, I’d rather not work without it.Everything is perfect, the keys & the feel of the keys as I type, the backlighting, build quality, aluminum not plastic, the battery life, and on and on. I can’t find one negative thing about it.And if I ever lost it, got stolen, whatever (it certainly doesn’t seem like it would break down) I’d be buying it again that same day with express delivery.

This item is amazing !! ... almost exact replacement for all apple products WITH LIGHTS !! ... WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW - the lights DO NOT stay on when plugged into USBC - or what many say wired mode - yes you do have to wake the keyboard up to light the panel ...

Really impressed with the build quality and functionality. I purchased this for my wife and wish I would have saved my money when I got the apple keyboard for myself.You will not be disappointed with this keyboard. Plus it's backlit!
