Great tool!
My husband always says, “jobs are easy when you have the right tool” and this tool was right for the job! We purchased wine barrel staves and barrel tops and needed to remove the char from the bottom. This made it so easy to rip through the char. The form is the perfect size and is a great value for the money. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to remove layers of char, paint, or rust from the surface. Definitely makes light work.

Ease of use
I use this in my woodworking business and I’m very happy with its performance thus far. It takes getting used to how much material it is capable of removing with ease, especially if you’re using a wire wheel or an aggressive grit sandpaper. A+++++

Spectacular for shou sugi ban but has a wiring design flaw IMO
The media could not be loaded. This is an essential tool if you are doing shou sugi ban in any volume, as I am for the shelving in my cabin. For Japanese wood burning, be sure to get the coarse and fine wire brushes, which are not included in this set.I have had a number of problems with the wiring of the tool however. The cord itself is long at 8 feet, which is good until the tool itself grabs it and wears off the coating or it catches on something and breaks inside the tool. Both of these events happened to me. I was able to wrap electrical tape to solve the worn part of the cord, but then I noticed erratic power dropoffs indicating a partial break somewhere.Taking the tool apart, which involved removing a dozen or screws including one well hidden at the front, I could not find the problem, but my builder could. He put the Restorer on the workbench and wiggled the wire to show that it intermittently connected just inside the handle, where it makes a sharp turn up to the motor. He cut out the bad wire and it is working now, but I am having to be VERY ginger with it to avoid a repeat of the problem.Note: Be careful reassembling the tool to be sure the separated black and white wires are well seated in the little box with channels, otherwise you will cut them open upon screwing the two halves of the tool back together.Suggestion for the manufacturer: Heavier gauge wire and a design change to avoid the sharp turn of the wiring in the tool, which will be prone to breakage if ANYTHING tugs on the cord.

Great tool at a fair price point!
I’ve used this tool and the more expensive Makita version. The Makita model is heavier and better suited for production work. For home use, this product it great! I have used it to clean reclaimed barn wood…to open the grain a little and remove dirt and dust with the brush attachment, and it works great. I would use a belt sander rather than this tool if I had much heavy sanding to do. I think this tool is best suited for projects requiring the various bristled brush attachments or the Scotch-Brite type attachments for metal refinishing.

It is proving itself to be worth every penny.
I am redoing my hardwood floors and it fits the curve of the plank nicely. The sander handles nicely and the sand paper lasts much longer than I thought it would. I am finishing my floors with boiled linseed oil because it is easily repairable, it is beautiful and a tiny fraction of the cost of paying a contractor to do this. I am so glad I bought this.

Amazing
I wish I had one of these 2 floors ago. Refinishing 90+ year old wood floors in my house, so can't use a large sander as I don't want to tear them up. Using an orbital takes for-ev-er, but this tool is amazing and so much quicker. The weight of it makes it so much easier, and it's still very gentle and isn't tearing up the very old wood. Bravo!

This is the BOMB!!!
My projects are mostly restoration and aging of various woods. I have always spent more project time on these functions than anything else but with the Restorer and it’s various accessories, this has now been cut down by 60%+. The time savings has already paid this off and I now have more cushion on delivery times. This tool is a must for anyone that wants to save time and effort. Let the machine do the work. it’s weight is enough for pressure on surface but don’t linger at any one spot, it will make the surface uneven. Well built, it looks the business and more importantly, it does the job better than any other stripper/restorer I’ve own.
