Great reading books for home
I bought this set of reading books for my child with dyslexia, who is about to go into Year 3, to keep practising reading over the summer holidays. He is on Turquoise book band at school (so about a year behind expected levels), so I started him on the first stage of the pack (Orange) to ease him in, as his dyslexia means that reading is, understandably, a challenge. He really enjoyed the stories and so did I! I’m a primary school teacher, so I am very familiar with the Oxford Reading Tree etc and these were such a nice change!! The stories are actually interesting to read as bedtime stories, so my son was happy to have them read aloud to him to familiarise himself one night and then to read them aloud to me the next day. They are a good length and are nicely illustrated. The books are easier than the book bands at school (at the end of the book, it does say that they are meant for independent reading at the corresponding school book band levels). I am really happy I bought them, as they’ve made a great follow on from the Julia Donaldson Songbirds pack (stages 1-4) that I had previously bought for him. Would really recommend, especially if you have a reluctant or dyslexic reader.

Fab set of books
My little boy (5) was struggling with reading. We bought these to help engage him with reading & so far the stories are definitely helping him! They’re set out nicely & use a great variety in of tricky words as well as easy to break down phonetically. I would happily recommend these to parents.

Nice books, easy to read by 5-7 years old, simple and funny short stories.

Great, just think it’s for younger than age 6
This was the highest band colour (white) too easy for my 6 year old. However I’d definitely by the next book banding, as they are nicely written and illustrated.

Excellent pack of books, with some great titles
School send home a lot of Biff, Chip and Kipper books, personally I hated reading them as a child and my son isn't keen on them either. I therefore wanted a selection of books we could read at home together that he'd enjoy and would stretch him over the next year and I believe this pack will do that. Some really great titles I know he's going to love, can't wait to start reading them with him.
