Experience from a 3 time buyer....
I normally do not write reviews and was hesitant about ordering this product because of some of the reviews I read. I’m starting a new construction build and I thought it would be good to place a floor safe in a few of the bedroom closets. I ended up taking a chance and ordered my first floor safe and it arrived within a week. The safe was in overall good shape with very minor paint chipping and cracking near one corner of the mouth of the safe. Overall this damage is cosmetic and did not/will not affect the operation or use. This is a 125lbs shipment and I was honestly surprised how well it was packaged.I was nervous about the combination lock not working but after following the instructions it opened up without any issues. Once it was opened I was shocked by how much space was in the safe itself and I was glad I opted for the biggest model Protex offered.Since my initial purchase, I have ordered two additional safes, each with the same experience. Slightly damaged (expected) but each one has opened with the combination provided. I’m very surprised other users are having the issues with their combination locks not opening. I have not had that experience or such bad luck. At this point, I’ve ordered three Protex safes and haven’t had any problem with any of them. The only drawback to these is that there are no installation instructions and I also couldn’t find anything I really felt comfortable with online either. I was left wondering should I install the floor safe when I pour my foundation or should I install it after? What is the recommended set up? For ease I’m choosing to install these when I pour my foundation in a few weeks, hopefully during the construction process/full build, they will be kept dry and functioning properly. I will try to remember to update this review after the project is complete.

LEAKS WATER - NOT WATER PROOF
This Safe is NOT water proof. Safe leaks a lot of water. See photos. We spent $750 in labor and over $100 in materials (cement, glue, etc) to get this cemented in the ground, only to have it full of water in less than a couple of days. We have damage to our personal property. We spent another $45 and purchased FLEX TAPE® in the tube and in the spray and safe still leaked water. see photos. On top all that, now we have to get it dug up because it collects water and we cannot abandon it. Now we have to spend at least another $250 for labor just get it removed. On top of all that, we have to have the carpet removed and replaced due to all the dirt, cement, and water from the construction, and purchase new and reinstall. This product is endorsed by Amazon Prime as selected product among other competing products in the category. Misleading to customers who trust prime endorsement.Contacted Amazon and spent hours talking to support and provided with photos we posted here and other photos. Since we purchased the 3-year warranty, this should've been refunded in no time and refunded the cost of our labor and materials. 1st they said they will refund cost of the safe, then they said we have to return it to get a refund - We asked them about our labor cost and labor to get it dug up, damage to our property, and other cost to fix. They said they cannot promise to do anything about it, but to send the receipts. This is the worst situation you can imagine. 1. Damage to our personal property in the safe. 2. Over $1,000 in labor and material to install. 3. More $ cost to get it dug up and fix and re-carpet 4. Hours spent with Amazon customer service to get a refund even though we had purchased the warranty. Do NOT Purchase. False advertising and marketing of this safe.

Great but not as great as before
This is my second purchase of this safe. It is sturdy and the locking mechanism on my first one was top notch. They did something in the past three years or so to cheapen the dial. Still a great safe.

Much larger than expected (Pleased!!) Cumbo lock opening not an issue.
BIGGER than expected! Wow!! Super heavy 125 lbs! Was concerned about reviews regarding lock not opening, granted it is complicated to open, just follow the instructions to the letter and will open, perhaps the engineer above may have received a wrong combo number? It took me three attempts to get it. Cement should get poured next week April 12, 2019. I’ll be in Coachella I’ll post pictures when I get back from then. Keep in mind the casing goes underground in cement so the fire proof concern is covered at the bottom inside cement, the door seems very strong, I’m sure I can find some some sort of fiberglass fireproofing pad that I can put beneath the door to protect the valuables inside particularly papers i.e. titles, certificates etc. Thanks for waterproofing I will just simply put those documents in sealed plastic cases. Remember the size is pretty big so you can actually put in large 12 inch cases inside

Poor Craftsmanship, even worse packaging.
The media could not be loaded. The packaging was completely soaked and worthless on arrival. It’s 125lbs and it’s packed with about 25lbs worth of packaging. It was damaged so badly upon arrival that the welds were broken.

Great Value For the Money
Was skeptical of the product at the beginning mainly because of few 'bad 'reviews.Safe arrived just couple of minutes ago; adequately protected inside out, no damage whatsoever!!!Opened on the first try, not a single issue, locked and try to open 5 more times ( for a total of 6 altogether).Absolutely no problems or even single obstacle. Be aware, this safe is not a water or weather proof. Any type of liquid, dust or other elements could easily get inside. Keep the top 'neck' above ground and you should be O.K.Wrap up with heavy-duty plastic or other waterproof membrane-liquid or fabric before installing in ground.Knowing/reading so many negative reviews in advance made me ready for the headache- you can always return it if it is not up to your likeness. I took a chance and I am completely satisfied with this product.thanks

Hard to open if you follow the provided the directions
The directions are wrong. The second turn to the right should be one turn less. How hard is it to hire a proficient technical writer to draft accurate directions? I spent a lot of times on my hands and knees trying to figure out this floor safe lock. I can only imagine the number of these safes that have been returned.
