I installed the Android app, opened it, scanned the QR code, plugged in the switch, and had it connected to my network in a few minutes. I did test the settings, as I have to see that it works according to my settings, and amazingly it did. I have tried at least 2 other brands of similar products and neither would work to the settings I wanted. So far I am very happy with this device.I also submitted a question regarding what happens if after it reboots my router, but the Internet is still down. I didn't want it dropping power to my router every 2 or 3 minutes for a day or more, we did have a 24 hour Internet outage about a year ago. They responded in a couple of hours with this info.I thought this was excellent service.To answer your question, the rebooter has an exponential "back off" system that follows this logic: 1st reboot uses the user-defined timing 2nd reboot waits 10 mins for the internet to recover 3rd reboot waits 30 mins for the internet to recover 4th reboot waits for 2h for the internet to recover 5th reboot waits for 6h for the internet to recover 6th reboot waits 1 day for the internet to recover After that, it waits 1 day forever until getting a successful connectionIf at any time it recovers, it falls back to the default user-defined timing.So it will reboot 5-6 times during the day if it is out 24 hours.Hope this answers your question, I will be placing that information on our site, as you said it's not in there and it is a valid question.

Having occasionally experienced internet dropouts at home office, I sought to find an easy way to reboot the router so it would resync with my modem. Both separate devices. A Tech Expert friend knowledgeable in network systems highly recommended the Reboot device by ConnectSense he uses at his home office and in the corporate headquarters. I am pleased with the automated Intelligent reboot function that will reboot any powered gear plugged into this device. During the app installation, I encountered problems with the signup and some configuration questions came up. Rudy Rivera, responded Monday morning to my inquiry filed the Sunday night before. He provided detailed instructions by email on the best practice setup and also made himself available to clear up my signup issues so I can also manually control the device that automatically reboots when it looses internet service. As I have stated in other product reviews, it's this type of professional timely technical support that I and many others in my field will value over price and features. This is getting Returned!! It just does not always work. I set this up in the kitchen to test. I was going to use it for my parents house in another state. Sadly I found that if I unplugged it from the wall when I plugged it back in the power would not always come back on. In the cases where the power did not come back on the unit would work like a remote On/off switch not a reboot. For a device that is planned to be used with no one around this is a deal breaker. If it fails to work it always needs to fail in the on setting!! It would also constantly change from router or combination to other in the settings. Maybe this unit was bad but I no longer feel confident installing it.

We have many smart home products to monitor our home when were away for extended periods. I thought I had covered all our bases, even put the router on a small UPS so we could be notified of power outages and still have some monitoring capabilities. A week after we left home the router lost internet connection and I had to find someone to go in and cycle the power on it. I've now installed this between the UPS and router and tested it and it worked great.
