Why did you pick this product vs others?:I do not like using a punch down tool on tombstones at the outlet. An erroneous slip in my youth and I punched a few holes in walls rather than punching down the wires, at least it wasn't my hand. This tool removed all that worry whatsoever. What I did notice is that a few times the wire would pop back up and out after placing the tombstones into the tool, so be certain to check all the wires are terminated correctly after use.What they do do, is make the termination process very easy and a quick crimp of the handles finishes off all 8 wires. You may have some incomplete breaking of the outer jacket on the wires after the crimp, but it is easy to knock them off afterwards.

I got a great deal on this tool (I see price doubled since I bought it). I installed an Ethernet jack for a camera system. It was simple to use and comes w/extra cutting module, too!

I bought this Keystone Insert to neatly connect a router on the first floor of our home to a switch in the basement using an existing Legrand face plate. I was surprised to discover that this keystone connector has T568A color codes. I simply switched the orange and green pairs to create the T568B connection that I needed. The product description should describe this as a T568A connector to avoid confusion.

Purchased several types of OnQ cat6 keystones and found this one to be fairly easy to use. Not mentioned in the description is that a 110 punch down tool is required. I happened to own a wiring kit, so that was not a problem for my install. If you have no idea what a 110 punch down tool is, please pick another style of jack, typically described as "tool less"Tip: the wall plates for this Keystone are available in several styles at Lowes, much cheaper than here on Amazon. Also the price for keystones here on Amazon varies by color, so shop around and you may be able to get an the exact same keystone much cheaper if color is not important.

The tool is so easy to use. You just slide your keystone jack into the tool and squeeze the handle to simultaneously punch down and trim all eight wires at the same time. It comes with a second set of blades too.

Bought this, and the compatible jacks, for a new building project of about 200 new CAT6 terminations.Wow, what a time saves this was! Get yourself one of the good quality stripping tools and this jack/punch combination and save yourself hours of heartache! I got it down to about 4 minutes per jack from beginning to end. Once you get in the groove, it moves right along. Not sure how that compares to the times that pros would get but I was pleased with how long it took me.

So much faster way to terminate cat. cable. It took half the amount of time to wire my house with these ends than with any other that I tried. Do wish they were just a little less expensive since I had to do almost 15 inputs. Still have 6 more to do.

I bought this product and the connectors using part numbers directly from Legrand’s product sheet, assuming that the connectors and tools listed on the same product actually worked together. Irritatingly, that’s not the case. Bought for a new house build and can’t return because I put it in a box until needed, so now I’m outside the 30 day return window by a few days. Waste of money - this tool does not fit Legrand’s own blue CAT6 connectors.
