Single Line Classic 2500 Analog Desk Phone with Volume Control, Works on PBX, Handset and Line Cord, 2 Ports, Beige/Ash

Great product. I have been looking for a vintage phone for some time. I have a restaurant bar and the old bell Atlantic are far superior sounding than modern telephones. I avoided this one because I thought that it was a replica and that the insides were typical modern telephone tech, but finally gave one a shot. I am very happy that I did. Sound quality and volume are great. Build is fine, heavy enough that it doesn’t slide around when in use. Even in the busiest nights, we can hear customers clearly. Goes to show that our forefathers knew what they were doing!

The traditional design coupled with the amplified handset makes this a great phone for for those challenged by using a cellular phone. My FIL was complaining that he could not understand my MIL on the phone (they live separately now) ; this was caused by my MIL not being able to speak into her Jitterbug correctly. I transferred her cell phone to a voip interface and connected this phone, now they are both pleased to be able talk to each other.Would definitely buy again!The vendor shipped promptly and the description was accurate. And the price was very competitive!

It is a basic phone and it works, no frills, no gadgets and I like it like that. Good quality and good sound. Good enough.

I wanted this simple, classic phone so that my disabled friend could easily hold it without hitting buttons on the handset. Also, it works even during power outages, providing you don't have the same cracker jack rural phone company I have, which obviously hasn't invested in backup generators for their system. I would think anyone in an urban area where they have hurricanes or snow-induced power outages should have this as a backup landline in case the cell phones stop working.

I like the retro look of this telephone and the real bell ringer. It's modeled after the desk phones we used at work during the 1980's and 90's, but weighs much less which takes away the reassuring "heft" I remember. Since the current model is lighter in weight, one needs to be careful not to stretch the receiver cord too much while in use to avoid pulling the whole phone off the surface where it rests.Now the reason I gave one star for sound quality: The phone worked fine for a week and then produced a constant hum/buzz that is heard by all parties in the conversation. The noise is enough to make communication impossible at times -- very regrettable because I bought the phone for my very elderly, hard-of-hearing mother so she could use something simple and loud without accidentally pressing buttons against her face and hanging up as we talked. Back in "the day", phones worked well and lasted a lifetime. Now it's a challenge to find anything but cheaply made junk. I am returning this one to Amazon for a refund.

Got this for an elderly relative who finally decided it takes too dang long to dial that old (50+ years) rotary-style phone! Size and color very closely match the old phone, so it "fits." My one-star deduction (really only a half star) would be for the ring. It's rather deafening on the loud/high setting, and on the lesser/low setting it sounds like a wind-up kitchen timer going off. Overall though -- very good product and no problems reported by user.

The media could not be loaded. So this retro phone looks just like the original from years ago and so far works pretty well. However the main reason why I even bought it was to get that distinctive loud classic bell ring. Unfortunately while this phone does have a mechanical bell ringer, it sounds more like a bicycle bell rather than that classic bell ring we all know and remember. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, just watch any movie or TV show made before the 1990's and compare it to my video that I attached to this review. The phone itself doesn't weigh anywhere near as much as the originals so if you ever drift too far away from the base when on a call you'll likely pull the phone of the desk before realizing the handset cord is stretched to the limit.Those are my only two complaints, but the ringer sound was the bigger disappointment. The phone works and does what it's supposed to and if you aren't looking for that classic ringing sound then this is the phone for you. But for me it seems I will be continuing my search to find an original used one that's still in pristine physical shape.
