Lisle spark checker
The spark Checker is very easy and convenient to use. I keep it in my pocket when going from job to job and allows me to easily and quickly check for spark on engines of all sizes. It does not work on COP type ignition systems. The quality of the spark checker is first class and wouldn't hesitate to buy another in the future. I was so impressed with the spark Checker I purchased another one to give to another technician.

Defective tool
The tool did not work. I tested it at night with the garage light turned off. With the engine running, I placed the tool on the ignition wires and it did not light up for any of the cylinders. I emailed the company for support and his only response was, "You need to do it darker area."

very inexpensive & useful
Works by induction; lets you see - by way of stronger or weaker flash - power from coil through wires to plugs.Check coil wire, and each plug wire, with out need to remove plugs or plug wiresYou will need other tools to get more specific results for specific parts; This tester is handy for glovebox or general tool box,Example: I found on my V8, one wire/plug weak, and on the other side, excessive crossover (power jumping through one wire shield to adjacent wires) and from the coil wire to two plug wires,Added some additional wire spacer-clips and tied coil wire away from other wires, pull the offending plug and clean,That is all I need until the next scheduled tuneup. For the price, this is a "gotta have" for the toolbox.

Works on any car with plug wires, Just don't drop it bulb fragile.
Big help finding out what was wrong on my 93 Buick LeSabre, found out the cylinder #6 wire was not firing. So i changed the plug and the plug wire still not firing so changed the Ignition Coil and WORKS. Thought for sure it was the fuel injection but the way it was running (chugged) but missed a little bit. The Coil was real easy to change (2 bolts) the # 3 on the coil did fire but #6 on the same coil did not. The other 2 coils (3 total) were good. Very simple to use, dropped a star because I dropped it and the light bulb went out and No replacement that I know off so I need to buy another one.

To easy
Well, time for me to add my two cents here.On the one bad review here, so you got a bad one, does not mean there all bad. I see the positive reviews outnumber the one bad one so what does that say. One bad apple, don't dump the cart. The one I received works as stated. How, don't ask me, I don't know, but it does work. There is not much to it so as I see it unless you run over it with a tank or use it for a punch it should last a good long time. The easy way to check spark for years was to grab the wire with one hand and stick a finger of the other hand in cold coffee and see if it heats up. With this little thing them good ol days I guess are gone, and the fun that went with it, cause this is faster than waiting for the coffee to heat up.Going to use it for a spell and then probably buy a few more to give out as gifts to my friends and employees who I am told prefer cold coffee over my idea of how to heat it up.
