Must buy
I picked up this HDMI Video Capture Card for streaming and recording gameplay from my console (PS5/Switch) and it’s been a great addition to my setup. For the price, I wasn’t expecting much — but I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it performs. Here’s what stands out:• Easy Setup – No drivers, no fuss. I plugged it into my laptop via USB, connected the HDMI from my console, and it worked instantly with OBS and Zoom. Total plug-and-play experience.• Good Video Quality – Captures in 1080p at 30 or 60fps depending on the model, and the passthrough has no noticeable lag. Clean image with clear sound, perfect for streaming or recording.• Versatile – I’ve used it for gaming, live Zoom presentations, recording camera feeds from a DSLR, and even screen capturing from another PC. Works across platforms — Windows, macOS, and Linux.• Portable – It’s small, lightweight, and USB-powered. Perfect for mobile setups or streaming on the go.Things to keep in mind:This isn’t a high-end Elgato-style capture card — it’s more of an affordable alternative that works very well for beginners, hobby streamers, or anyone needing solid 1080p capture without breaking the bank.If you’re looking for an inexpensive, reliable, and easy-to-use HDMI capture solution, this one gets the job done without any headaches. Highly recommended for gamers, creators, and remote workers alike!

Works great for my Nintendo Switch
I bought this so that I could setup my Nintendo Switch to play games on my monitor. I couldn't figure out how to connect it directly so I grabbed this to help make things easier. The software takes a little bit to figure out if you're not used to this type of product but it was to bad. I can now play my switch while docked on my computer. I don't record or live stream but I do enjoying playing it on a bigger screen. This was the perfect price point and the graphics look good.

Pretty good, it works but...
There are two things to know about audio. First let me say that I'm using it in a way that probably it isn't made for. I'm using it to make my second monitor show my cable TV.Video: please note it passes through 4k but at most sends 1080p to the computer, don't know if it downsamples, but I'd guess so.Audio things to know:It doesn't do bitstream audio, so if your audio source is 5.1 (or more) nope, you'll get nothing.I'm getting really low audio. It shows up alright in OBS so it might be line level. I need to boost it all the 30 db if I'm going to have headroom to turn it down and up.Second: The audio is mono which may not matter for normal reasons of game streaming. Windows detects it as 1channel, 15 bit, 96000 HzFor what it is, what it does, and the price, it's good. It is also very low latency streaming! You still wouldn't play most things that way, haven't tested the passthrough but if it's a passthrough it should be zero delay.I wish I could answer the questions, but I can't so hopefully you, and they read this:VLC 1080 P Streaming.Open vlc Open capture deviceDevice Selection DirectShow (sorry not Linux instructions)Video device: USB VideoAudio device Digital Audio Interface USB Digital AudioClick Advanced Options:Picture Aspect-Ration type in 16:9##IMPORTANT check Device properties box.Everything else is default, click okay.Back on the Open Media screen, click play. You'll get a properties windows with brightness, etc.Just hit okayYou'll get a properties window with Video format:First Click Color Space / Compression: Change to MJPEGChange Output Size: to 1920 x 1080The frame rate should still be 60Click OKThird Properties Windows AudioInputMixerJust hit OKDone

Doesn't work anymore
Got this for my son for xmas. Not even 2 months later and he's telling me it doesn't work anymore. Can't return it though or get a replacement anymore. Don't bother wasting your money.

Good capture device for its price
This capture card has been so easy to work with and has been killing it on specs. For the price of this card it’s going to be hard to beat.

Is not compatible with Xbox One
Though technically not false advertising, since it says only "Xbox" in the title, it ought to be noted that it is not compatible with Xbox One, or more accurately, one should not attempt to try. It began to overheat, and although sometimes it was fine, othertimes it would crash within 5 minutes. It works just fine for Switch, but for any higher grade consoles, one should consider another alternative. Keep in mind, I have owned and used this product regularly for about 5 months.
