Proper orientation of magnet…
There is a correct way to orient the Manet to the sensor. A review was written using a ferrous magnet and the orientation of the magnet was incorrect. The field of the magnet is weakest on the side and therefore would reduce the ‘sensitivity’ of the sensor. If they would have used either flat side of the magnet the field strength would increase and the detection distance would have been greater. In addition, a neodymium magnet has a higher field strength than a ferrous based magnet thereby increasing the detection distance. These devices have about a 10mm ( ~3/8”) detection distance maximum. I have used these in several applications using a neodymium magnet and run about a 5mm (~3/16”) gap. Works great on the application running around 1,000 RPM. So take it for what it’s worth, a great little sensor package.

Great for the price
Works as described. Great deal. Hopefully it lasts

Used for a cat wheel rotation counter.
Wish the range was a little longer. Cats can shake the wheel running and the gap widens a bit too far to count correctly.

Didn’t work at all
Tried using it as a geartooth sensor but it didn’t work at sllReplace with cherry sensor works perfectly

Does not work as described
Product does not work as described. This switch only works with a magnet, and then only when the magnet faces the switch with the correct pole. This switch does not detect metals or metalized objects, as claimed in the description. Also, the output voltage of the signal line does not match the power supply voltage to the switch. I used 5V as input voltage, the output voltage on the signal line was 3.5V - it should be 5V. The description misrepresents what this switch does. Getting returned to sender.
