Quicksilver throttle control replacement
Great product at a good price. Replaced my old (1995) Quicksilver throttle control with this one. The plastic top of my old control broke. The new 4500 is built much stronger, looks more modern and has a good feel to it. The only thing I had to do was tighten the friction nut a few turns (very simple) and had to cut out a little bit of my console to make the control fit as its slightly larger than my old controls.

Nice Control, But not what I needed
it did take a while to arrive. about 10 days. I wrote a review before I decided to not keep the Item. "mostly out of anger because this was not what I was hoping for" is not a direct replacement For the older style quick silver single outboard throttle control. This one sets deeper in the console & sets higher on the top of the console. It does not have the traditional 3 "blade" trim connector But it does have a short 3 "prong" connector. If you decided to buy this to replace the old style you would have to splice the trim connector. It seems to be very well built & operates very smoothly, But I plan on returning because it will not fit in my console. But I would recommend it for someone who has a deep enough console.

Far better...
than the original equipment on my 1995 Trophy. It shifts VERY smooth and looks far more modern; it also feels way better on the hand.

It works superbly and looks great as well
It works superbly. The action is very smooth with very little resistance, but just enough. It looks great as well. My only issue with this product is that the chrome looking finish on the throttle handle is starting to get tiny pitting from the corrosive salt air and water exposure despite my thorough fresh water misting and wipe downs which I do after each trip. (several each week). It has been in use for almost a year. I also keep the product covered, but the salt air exposure still gets to it. In summary, it functions great, looks great, but I wish the finish had better anti corrosion qualities.
