First impressions not so great
Me:I've been a professional developer for over a 20 year career and wanted to get into Roblox as potentially a side project or to create something my kids would enjoy. The existing Roblox documentation is incomplete so I'm happy to buy a book or two to help fill the gaps.First impressions (I'll update as I continue if warranted):First 2 chapters give you a preface and discuss studio settings...nothing necessarily wrong there. But chapter 3 goes in depth into the coding intricacies of Luau. If you've never developed before you would have no idea what's going on, and there's no guided tutorials to assist you. I have no idea how a beginning developer would grasp any of this. Best case scenario: The other chapters are more tutorial-like and you use this chapter as an appendix.A beginner book like this should kick off a project and show early results before diving into the intricacies of Luau vs other languages and just expecting a beginner to absorb all this info before actually ever creating anything. If my initial impressions change as I read on I will update my review.

Truly made easy!
I have worked on this book project as a technical reviewer. The book is true to the name "made easy." Even without a technical background in programming, advanced concepts are made clear and easy to understand so you can dive into development. The book is for anyone starting with Luau programming who wants to build games on Roblox. The book teaches you the fundamentals of programming and introduces you to the Roblox interface before diving deeper into game development. The book is complete with step-by-step explanations of essential concepts, practical examples, and self-assessment questions. As a result, you will be able to quickly learn how to produce quality Roblox games with great potential for success. I particularly enjoyed the bonus chapter '50 cool things to do in Roblox', which includes some excellent best practices to implement on the platform while you create, publish, and learn to monetize your games.I'd strongly recommend this as your first book if you're looking for guidance to build your 1st game on the platform or want to learn to program in general.

Must read!!!
Get this book if you're starting out to program on Luau and/or you wish to create your game(s) on Roblox and share with your friends. A hands-on book which if read/actioned end-to-end will each you to build 2 complete games on Roblox. The author introduces new topics (Roblox interface - the work env. - intro to Luau - programming scenarios - game building etc.) at the right pace with enough practical implementation to demonstrate the theory. Every chapter includes a challenge at the end for you to try your own thing (with a GitHub repository made available to download and play-around with the code). I've build and published a Racing game following the steps laid down in the book. Mission successful! The chapter '50 cool things to do on Roblox' tries to take you to a new level when building games on Roblox and talks about marketing your games, Robux, programming tricks, leaderboard and reward system and so many other Roblox features instantly.btw, Zander is just 19 years old as I read on his bio and deserves a shout-out for pulling this off so well -- keep it up, if you're reading this review.Final piece of advice to readers to this book:A) Read every chapter in the prescribed orderB) Implement all the code that the author has used in the chapter from GitHub (fork it - break it - play with it)C) Take the quiz at the end of the chaptersD) and most importantly, START BUILDING the game you always wanted alongside ZanderYou'll get your 1st game coming out in just about a week with this book.

Excellent for Beginners
This is a wonderful book for anyone looking to move onto Roblox from another tool, or learn Roblox for the first time. Even a long time Roblox developer, I found quite a bit of this book to be handy. From the start I was able to find answers to questions I wish I could have had answered when I was starting my journey, and there's a plethora of knowledge from start to finish. Aside from information, there are a number of tutorials and references that will help anyone practice their programming in Roblox Studio. This is a wonderful starter to any developer's journey and I'll be happy when I grab a physical copy and add it to my collection.

Amazing Roblox Coding Book
This is a step-by-step guide for anyone who wants to build their first game on Roblox (I read/worked through the book with my kids to build a game together). Highly recommend for pre-teens, teens, and tweens to pick this up as their first book to coding games.Zander does an excellent job of speaking to the new Roblox coder. The book breaks down the aspects necessary to code your own games from scratch with ease and teaches the fundamentals of Luau coding.
