Why is this NOT in your cart already?????!!!!!
FABULOUS!THIS is what I have been looking for in a mandolin slicer!Safety is indeed "first" with this design. You literally have to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to be put in ANY danger with this setup. Not saying you "can't" get hurt, but that you REALLY have to work at it and ignore ALL of the manufacturer's warnings for usage, in order to hurt yourself with it.Dials for all kinds of thicknesses, that are extremely intuitive."One blade to rule them all" design, instead of having to switch between various attachments.Overall blade "size" easily fits a russet potato without having to "cut it down" to fit in the chute. Same with a peeled onion. Baby carrots fit long-ways in the chute bottom, which helps for julienne.Slice, julienne, dice... all in one. Just turn the knobs for which you want. Two knobs are specifically for the "julienne" blades, so you can either go wide julienne or narrow. I haven't tried it yet, but I bet you could even do a waffle/lattice type cut design, with how much versatility the knob adjustments give.Locks hold everything in place, so this doesn't just "accidentally go off" on its own.You literally have to push down to make any cuts. The blades are behind a protective flap in the top.It breaks apart very easily for cleaning, with a few simple spring buttons and a spring clamp for release, and the included cleaning tool is perfect for getting out food particles WITHOUT endangering your hands. Snap it all back together and put in the dishwasher for sanitizing. There is a snap-in cover for the blade section for storage, instead of having to keep the loading chute attached all the time.As for food prep, look out! Holy crud does this thing go thru produce like nobody's business! "Fast" doesn't even begin to define quickly it will go through 5lbs of potatoes! We were literally running out of space in the catch bin, in under a minute. I have tried from 0 to 10 on the thickness cuts, and just wow. Want chonk size? Go to the max width, and be prepared to go through a russet in under 10sec. Need rice paper thin? Go to the other dial extreme and use the potato slices as tracing paper. Shred an entire head of cabbage in under a minute. Slice an entire bag of onions in a matter of minutes. Julienne an entire bag of baby carrots without fear of shredding your fingers. Coleslaw base and potatoes and onions for scallop casserole, done in less time than it takes to warm the oven. Kid you NOT. (Yes, I actually timed it one evening!) Tomorrow we'll be using this critter to make some aehobak saeu bokkeum (korean stir-fry zucchini with shrimp), and I can't wait to see how fast it goes through the zucchini and squash prep (which normally takes me quite a bit of time - sometimes upwards of 30min - hand-slicing the julienne sticks, including seeding and cleaning, and cutting off the ends, then lining everything up, cutting into nearly equal lengths, etc). I already know it is going to breeze through the carrots and onions, LOL!This slicer has it all, for a ridiculously low price tag. If you are looking for an extremely versatile mandolin slicer that won't hog cabinet space, let alone break the bank, THIS is the one you want!(sorry, it's currently IN the dishwasher, so i can't grab a quick pic of it, at this time! i may have to grab some pics this weekend during the bokkeum prep, and update this review. we use it so often, it spends more time either in use or in the dishwasher, than in the cabinet! ROFL!!!!)

Wow. Just wow.
I've gone through SO many mandolin slicers through the decades. Most I used once or twice, then replaced with something else. The one I wanted to use today was one I don't think I ever even USED before. But when I pulled the parts out, I found that while I had all the inserts for blades, I didn't have the piece the blades went INTO. I still had the whole thing for the dicing part of it, but not the slicing. So I hit Amazon to find anything I could get delivered today so I could still get this cooking. This one and another version of it popped up with same day delivery, and this one was a bit of an upgrade and just seemed more solid. So I picked it.This is my first time using these plunger type of slicers. And I have to say it's a game changer. Holy cows, this thing just made the job go SO quick. I didn't have to julienne or anything, so I didn't have to go with the other blades for now, but even just how fast I got through the potatoes for my scalloped potatoes was VERY impressive.I was worried about the legs when you open it to that position it's supposed to SNAP into place - I feared that would be a weak point that would likely break sometime sooner rather than later. But it wasn't at all what I had expected. Just a small detent point and not fragile at all. The whole thing feels solid, and the little suction cups on the bottom provide a very solid base of operations.I probably didn't need the food holding part since this can just be gravity fed, but I wanted consistency in the shape of the potato slices, so I used it. And had no issues at all.Two pounds of potatoes fit just fine in the small plastic catch bowl that is included.Cleanup was a breeze - the sliding part with the blade has two quick releases on the bottom and lifts right out for easy cleaning. Then the other part can just be rinsed off as well to get any small bits of slices that hung onto the plastic. Just a minute and cleanup was finished.I'm actually glad now that in a fit of kitchen cleaning and organizing, I threw out the part I needed for my previous one, since this one will be SO much better.

Great Mandoline
I LOVE this mandoline! With my old one, the possibility of a nasty hand injury was a very real deal. Not only that, I am left with a big chunk of the onion or cuke or whatever because I'm too nervous to go any further. Not safe and not efficient. With this product, I move the blade, not the veggie. Safe and it slices right down to the "quick", shall we say. No food waste. There is a bit of a learning curve with this, but each time I use it, I get better with it. It can slice tissue thin, too, perfect for garnishing. Cleans easily, too. I don't put it in the dishwasher, preferring to hand wash and air dry.

Needs bigger chute
The chute is not very big. The picture with a fist in it must be a person with very small hands. You cannot fit an average tomato or onion in there without cutting parts of it off first. Not good if you want a whole round tomato slice. You have to slam it down kind of hard to get it to cut which kind of squishes the tomato. Not a big deal for things that are more firm.It keeps your hand away from the blade which is very good.Just remember not to leave it in the sink (like any knife) it is very sharp!

Best
I have owned quite a few of these things in the past, a lot of them just don’t last, you end up getting bent blades and a high risk of slicing the tip of your finger off just putting some of them together! This one is just amazing! Easy to take apart, dishwasher safe (top rack) and has a guard to keep everything away from the blades while storing, the blades are kind of tucked underneath the outer shell anyway. It also has very easy to use and understand adjustments.
