Works great
Works great. I use single mode SFPs in both fiber ports, plus about 15 ports (about half using POE) with no problems.

One hell of a switch for a home network
I picked up the NETGEAR GS724TP-200NAS 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch after trying to pick up a used Dell 5324 from a vendor here on Amazon. Needless to say the used Dell didn't work out (because it was DOA) so I picked this switch up and am glad I did. I updated my home network with a new modem (Motorola MB8600) and a new router (Asus RT-AC5300) but needed a switch to bring it all together. I was looking for a smart switch (which this is) that would give me the ability to do ling aggregation, provide POE and VLAN. Well not only does this provide me with those options, it has a whole lot more for me to play with. One of my most favorite things about it is that the gui is very user friendly and allows you to label every port as well as provide drop down menus for almost anything you want to change. As a home user this switch is a bit of overkill right now, but I know that I have room to grow and set things up the way I want. This model does have fans and while they are not as loud as the stock ones that come with the Dell 5324, they are not as quiet as the replacement ones I purchased for it either. I know it has a built in fan curve because they do ramp up during the day when my home office heats up but I have not seen anything that would allow a user to control or change it. As of now I don't have any complaints, the setup, once I got some help from netgear customer support went very quickly and smoothly. If you are not sure if this switch is for you and you have questions I would recommend calling netgear as that is what I did and they were super helpful. I have heard some horror stories about netgear customer support and can honestly say that my experience with them has been outstanding. They answered all of my questions and when I couldn't log into the switch they patiently walked me through how to do it (if your home network is not using .1 in the third octet then you will not be able to access it). Vince, the customer service agent spent more than an hour on the phone with me after my issue was addressed just to help me with the setup of my LAG going to my server, router and modem. In my opinion, if you are an advanced home networker in need of a switch, this is the one you want because of its options, flexibility and the outstanding customer support that comes with it.

Truly exceptional value and works very well and very quiet.
Amazing switch. For the price to get a fully managed 24 port switch that has 24 gigabit POE ports, supports VLANs, QOS, etc. and runs quiet is an exceptional piece of hardware. Very intuitive to figure out, the v2 version GUI works well and is fairly responsive.

Excellent product
Very easy to configure. Only issue is the two fans. But typically fans of that size move a lot of air and are not quiet. But that said, this is a great product.

Switch worked as expected.
We needed POE to install some VOIP phones. Our 18 port switch was full. This gave us the POE and extra ports we needed. It performed just as we had expected.

The 24-port switch has some very loud fans.. ...
The 24-port switch has some very loud fans... even louder if one is a bit out of balance... If you are handy person and don't mind voiding the warrantee the noise can be reduced to a bearable level by isolating the fans from the chassis with some thin rubber. I used some 1/16" silicone sheet that I had laying around. Now we have 24 ports of PoE at a very decent price.

Netgear makes a solid product
Full power POE switch. Netgear products are well made and last a long time. Easy to setup and maintain.

Way too loud for residential use
Works great but too loud. I have this in my A/V closet, but you can hear it all the way down the hallway. It sounds like the motor in my bench grinder.Update: I ordered the Netgear 16-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged PoE Switch (GS116PP) instead. Same performance, completely quiet. I'm happy with that one so far.I also tried contacting Netgear support to try and return the 24-Port GS724TP. They were absolutely zero help.
