5 Stars – Perfect Controller for Kids!
The 8Bitdo Ultimate Wired Controller is an excellent choice for my son’s gaming PC! Its smaller size makes it a great fit for kids with smaller hands, allowing him to play comfortably. The build quality feels solid, and the response is quick, enhancing the gaming experience. Plus, the setup was a breeze—just plug and play! Highly recommend this controller for any young gamer looking for a reliable and easy-to-use option.

Paddles are REMAPS
The paddles do not serve as extra buttons. Be aware of this. They are REMAPS. You can send a stick press signal from the paddles. You CANNOT send a paddle signal from the paddles. They are not extra buttons, they are convenient places for existing buttons.Meter your expectations.

Excellent for use with Steam
Steam picks the controller inputs up as an Xbox controller, so the inputs read flawlessly. 8Bitdo makes good controllers in general, but I got this one because my computer was having trouble with the Bluetooth signal from my Switch Pro Controller I was using for computer games prior and I haven't had any issues since. The wire is long enough to get to my seat comfortably, but not so long that it is a hinderance. If you prefer to use controllers for fighting games as opposed to keyboard, it's a great entry price compared to almost any fight stick. Also works great with emulators if you are into that!

Great build quality, but uncomfortable
The controller itself is amazing, the the shape of the handles is awful.Take the best price to performance controller in the world and then jam your elbows together. It'd be easily 5/5 if it had a better shape, but it's uncomfortable to use.

Poor quality product with confusing support
I bought one of these a few months ago, and admittedly, I didn’t treat it right. I dropped it on linoleum floor pretty often, accidentally got tangled in the cord and ripped it out of the socket, etc, etc. So when it failed after only three months I thought, you know, maybe it’s me. I was too rough on the poor thing. It’s past the return period but the price isn’t too bad, I’ll just buy another. And you guys, I have been babying it. It hasn’t been dropped, I haven’t pulled the cord, etc. I’m not repeating my mistakes of yestermonth. So why does it randomly lose connection constantly? That’s a great question. If you go to their website you can find a plethora of tools for each of their controllers. By which I mean, they have separate apps for each and every single one of the dozens of controllers they make. Oh and the app that updates the firmware is NOT the same app that calibrates the device. It’s not the end of the world but couldn’t they just add in detection for their own devices into their own software? Why make it needlessly complicated? Regardless, the firmware update and calibration didn’t help.I really wanted to like this product. The heft and materials feel sturdy and not cheap, and yet it has a nice price point. But it’s just not worth it. But a licensed Xbox controller instead of buying a new one of these once a month.

Twitching Hall Sensors within 1 month of ownership
You can find other videos online that demonstrate that holding down the controller stick in one direction results in it twitching on that axis for no reason. This is an unfixable effect from either bad sensors or otherwise that result from wear of holding down the stick in a certain direction for too long. This is inevitable with this controller. Initially it was my Y Axis was having issues going forward. So I relegated the controller to racing games (horizontal only.) After a few more months of regular racing, the X axis began to develop problems too.At least with potentiometer based controllers, they will drift consistently which is correctable with software via deadzones over time. Hall sensors though, on this controller? Avoid. After almost 3 years this controller is just unplayable. I'm literally wrangling the thumbstick every 30 seconds to 30 minutes at best just to jiggle it back into a way the sensor isn't stuttering. It could be pressure related, it could be dirt or debris - whatever the case, I don't know, and I don't care. This controller has caused me more hassle and put me off playing games with a controller because I did not want to spend more money on what should be a functional product.I cannot recommend this particular product unless they revised it later on, but it seems extremely common for this issue to occur. At least when it worked it was functional but the fact that it has cost me enjoyment over several years? That's something you can't get back and is unacceptable. For parents, just buy the kid a regular xbox or ps5 controller. At least those have some design standards.
