Mike Holt's Understanding Electrical Theory for NEC Applications Textbook

First book I studied when starting my electrical journeyman's study process and it did help me pass. Alot of great information, I tell all my apprentices to study the book so they have knowledge of what and why they do the things they do at work!

I'm a second year apprentice electrician, and I wanted to get a book that I could study to help me understand the more in-depth theory of electricity and how I can apply it to my day to day duties. Let me tell you I think this book is a VERY wise investment. From basic atomic structures and electrons, to load calculations, transformers, motors, relays, induction, ohm's law, watts law, and WAY MORE. This is a GO. TO. BOOK. The pictures are easy to follow as well as the way the book is written and how they separate the chapters with an end-of-chapter exam! My book didn't come with the barcode to get the answer key, however I called the company and they emailed me a link to check my test answers in a SNAP. I'm telling you I am learning so much from this book (2 chapters away from finishing) and WILL MOST CERTAINLY be buying more Mike Holt books once I complete this one. This book had no written reviews so I just had to say something about it. It actually made learning FUN and ENJOYABLE and I'm not exaggerating. JUST. GET. IT!

This is a good book with a very good format in my opinion. Buy it. The style has easy to understand narrative, easy to understand diagrams, and the text repeats in different words to make sure you get it. I wish more books were written this way. No wonder he sells a lot of these.

Extremely detailed; Comes with bonus videos that help break down lessons. Roughly 20 questions at the end of each chapter with answer key you could look up if needed guidance.

Well written and informative, very easy to understand

This book is extremely basic. If your looking for a book that relates to NEC application, this isn't it. You can find all the information for free on the internet. I wouldn't even use this as a reference. I'd find another book if you have ANY electrical knowledge.

Purchased in June 15 but haven’t really been reading till September and it’s falling apart. What I get for getting from Amazon Mike Holts would replace it anytime.
