Do these work on natural and synthetic fabrics?

I have used these on various types of fabric, however not all withstand washing, have to reapply in some cases, cotton seems to fair better

Are they water based or chemical based? Odour or smell free?

On the front of the packaging it states that they are water based. I can confirm that I have not detected an odour when using them!

do you HAVE to iron the tshirt after drawing or can you leave to dry naturally?

Well, you don't HAVE to do anything you don't want to do, but, if the instructions say that you need to iron the garment after drawing with the ink, I guess there must be a reason for it: perhaps the ironing 'sets' the ink and helps it to bond to the fabric thus making it less likely to be washed out?

Yes, they seem to be good after a wash.
