My middle son is the most difficult person to shop for. Any gift I buy him is left unused, even the things he asks for.For Christmas, he asked for stuff to make magnets with. He was thinking magnet backs and a laminator...but I remembered how cool the band pins were and started researching button makers. Professional ones are usually extremely costly, but I looked closely at the specs for those and after searching reviews across the internet, I found that this model aligned with the specs almost identically to a well reviews professional model that was 4x the price. Metal. Manual production. And this one comes with extras.It felt like a big risk but he was surprised and excited to use it.The button maker was very well made. Much more solid than I was expecting. The pieces all fit together well, aligned well for the action.It took us more that a few tries to get the right pressure, but after reading the instructions a couple of times and a little practice, we were producing professional quality magnets with old magazine ads. Don't be discouraged if it turns out crappy buttons at first, it was definitely user error for us!It came with a ton of supplies; precut clear plastic and button backs...a lot. We've had it over a year and still haven't gone through everything.This could be a good investment for somebody and is certainly fun. I felt like my money was really well spent and will probably buy another one for myself.

I've wanted a button maker for years, but never had a valid reason to purchase one. Had a few extra bucks this month and bought this one. Picked this particular model because 1) it's all metal construction, and 2) it does two different sizes of buttons. Plus, I've bought a number of other VEVOR products in the past and have been satisfied with their quality.Being all metal this button machine is heavy - heavier than I was expecting. Which I like. There is some assembly required, but not much and nothing complicated. However, the instructions you get are very confusing. It appears they were badly translated from some other language into English. There are photos along with the written text, so it isn't that hard to figure out what needs to be done to put this together. Just four parts to assemble.You get a lot of supplies with this, and a couple of tools for cutting circles out of paper to use as artwork for your buttons. The circle cutters look clumsy to use, so I will be buying some hole punches later.You get both plastic and metal backs for the two different sizes of buttons. You also get a paperback book with some graphics to use for buttons to practice on.I made several test buttons as soon as I got the button maker put together. I was surprised at how little pressure was needed - I was sort of expecting some large amount of force was needed. But no, it's actually very little. All the buttons came out prefect. Both the plastic back ones as well as the metal ones.I also bought a batch of the third-part button supplies to use, but have yet to try to use that with this machine, I'll come back and update my review if I have a problem using those materials.All-inall I happy with my purchase and would readily recommend this model.

Bought this button maker as a gift for my 21 yo daughter. She is soooo excited! She finds the quality and performance outstanding, having recently used an inferior product at a summer camp. It is heavy and feels durable. Her very first button was perfect… no adjustment required. I am pleased with how well it performs, especially for the mid-range price.

I first need to state that this is a great button maker. It's well made, easy to use and very sturdy. I'm giving it a low rating for the reason that follows....After a few days of testing and making several of the larger sized buttons, we switched over to the smaller size and discovered that the transparent protective films for the 25MM were missing from the box.The two options through Amazon were 1) return the whole item, or 2) contact the manufacturer. Since we already used quite a few of the supplies for the larger buttons, and it was only a small pouch of films that were missing, I decided to contacted Vevor.I worked with their customer service department via chat/email. They verified my order with Amazon and offered two options; 1) The would send the missing items from their supplier overseas with an estimated 2 - 3 weeks delivery time, or 2) Return the whole thing to Amazon. As I mentioned above, I did not think that a total refund/replacement was necessary since the missing items were so small, so confirmed that I would wait for the missing films.3 weeks later, still no replacement, but I did get an auto-generated email from Vevor stating that since they never heard from me, they would assume that the issue has been resolved and would be closing the ticket in 24 hours. I contacted them immediately and re-explained the whole ordeal. They responded with "I'm sorry that we can't contact the technical staff to reissue the accessories for you, please contact Amazon as soon as possible to refund you."So, now I'm back to square 1. I still don't feel right about returning an item that 1) I like, and 2) I have already used so much of the supplies. But I also don't think it's right that they will not work with me to find a solution. I've found that if I were to purchase the missing items, through amazon, it would run me $25+, so it looks like I have no choice but to send the whole thing back.WHAT A PAIN! And a total waste of resources.

It was a joy to make buttons and magnetic pins for a club and a middle school. Kids and adults are forever entertained making personable and individual gifts. Use a hand drawn picture or a photo, the kit is heavy and made with metal and strong quality plastic made to last and geared to work right the first time.
