Great Planer***Don't underestimate the bang for the buck
This is my first planer. I never had nor used one before now. I read some reviews that complained about the dust collection effectiveness and went ahead to hook up my shop vac to the planer port. So far I am amazed at the amount of wood dust and chips my vac collects! I have a Ridgid Vac that is probably at least 5 or 6 years old. The meager amount of wood that escapes the vac is almost nil.And most importantly, this planer is the bomb. It makes mince meat out of anything I put through it. I turned some older boards sitting in my garage from disasters to something even my wife was impressed with. I recommend this planer to any home hobbyist who will use it for light to moderate work. It doesn't have many miles on it yet but it will have soon. And for the money I think it would be hard to beat.

could use some slight modifications but does work as is
I just got mine today. I turned the travel speed down since it's a two speed and then I take off just a little at a time and I don't have a problem with chip collection. I also do not like that the hose port in the back is kinda in the way but it is doable. I am making a flip top cart for the planer to flip down and store under bench however the extension tables do not fold up all the way due to power switch in the front is actually in the way! I had to modify a flexible hose to fit the port and used Eternabond tape to hold slightly loose hose in place and so the rear table also will not fold up. So my remedy is to remove both extension tables. I am currently only running 12" X 6" so for now no big deal. MY wood shop is small and I have to store it under workbench when not in use. I should mention that I do not like that it does not have a limit stop for minimum thickness. I am cutting 3/4" boards down to a final thickness of 1/2" and all boards need to be 1/2" for flat glue up. I put a little piece of wood under the left front corner of the bed and taped it in place and it is working. I can't imagine having to read the gauge on every run and I have a few hundred to run. When I turn the adjustment down all the way to where it hits my Jerry rigged stop block the gauge on the right front shows 14mm which is 0.551181 inch and now works for my project and all pieces are the same identical thickness. Update: I finished my flip top cart for the planer. I did attach the in feed table and I use a bungee cord to hold table in the up position when folding the flip top down. I also had a slight bend and loose edge on the main in-feed main chrome table. I drilled small holes and attached small screws to the front side lip of the chrome metal piece. I wish that the vacuum port was 2 1/2" but it is not and had to piece it together with smaller adapters. I find some of my other tools also do not use 2 1/2" so I was not surprised.

Very poor quality
I bought the planer with high hopes based on reviews, but was very disappointed in the first 15 minutes of use.I started out with a 6" wide piece of maple that was 48" long. The first 3 cuts on low speed worked well, but each subsequent cut at a 1/4 turn would trip the breaker 2/3rds of the way through. My next board was an 8" wide 8' long piece of yellow pine on the faster speed. After the first 2 cuts and breaker trips I switched to the slow speed. I still couldn't get the full length of the board through the machine. I used the machine a total of 15 minutes before I packaged it back up for a return.I contacted vevor for a warranty replacement, but it took 4 days to get an email response from them, so I returned the planer back to Amazon. The new machine performed much poorer than the used 5 year old 2 blade planer it replaced.I

Absolutely read post
Absolutely! You should only cut about a hair thickness at a time. Cutter is belt driven part# 6PJ348I thought after cutting 100 ish boards it quit working as I had to push the board threw so I bought a craftsman dual planer lmfao after just 10 boards "hickory " it went dull and the thickness setter vibration kept changing the thickness and the final cut sucked! Vevor 3 blade is a smooth beautiful cut! I did buy some new blades Foxbc so far cuts beautiful. And yes changing the blades is a pain in the butt! But, it's worth it!
