Thermostat Wall Plate Compatible with Google Nest Thermostat 2020 Trim Kit Accessory Fingerprint Resistant Decoration Bracket Mount

Looks weird when installed as indicated, but impossible to install without that metal plate to anchor the screws when the original thermostat is installed in front of a junction box!

I needed an plate with the metal backing because of the wall damage of an previous thermostat installation, creating a larger mounting area. This did the trick.

So the little screws needed to attach Nest to the metal plate are not included and m3, sae3 don’t fit, I think they are proprietary so heads up

This kit is similar to the OEM Google Nest version but two things kept it from 5 stars. The supplied machine screws are WAY too long and go through the metal plate and into the wall. I used shorter screws (not supplied)The plastic trim plate says "This side away from wall" on the wrong side. Not to point out another review, but the photo shared by another reviewer has the trim plate mounted backwards. The OEM trim plate says the opposite.

I rarely write a review here on amazon but for this one, i couldnt help it. You could've at least make sure that the screws that came with it can fit into the 4 holes on the metal plate. Either the screws are big or the holes are too small. They wont fit! It took us a couple of hours trying to modify the holes or trying to find a smaller screw that fits. It should be an easy install. Do not buy!

Easy to intall and definately makes it look better. My only complaint is that there'a a not written on it saying Face away from wall, which seems a little bit of a eye-sore; not sure why they didn't simply put the message on the other side and instead say, "This side toward wall"... Otherwise, fantastic product.

Worked well for me, the mounting plate was key since my poor old wall had many screw holes from previous thermostat installations. And the price was nice.

I needed this cover plate to fill the hole where my old thermostat was. The bracket it great and good quality.
