Video quality is exceptional, the picture is clear and stable both during the day and at night
I ordered the Reolink 12MP PoE Security Camera System, with 4 X 12MP IP Cameras in July 2023 during Amazon's Prime Day event. The digital recorder (NVR) is compact and designed to take further cameras and hard drives. Having tested the system for a little while, I can confirm that the video quality is exceptional, the picture is clear and stable both during the day and at night. As it is a POE system, the wiring is simple and straightforward as only one cable which is included needs to be placed between each camera and the NVR.When I first tested the product on the bench, I found that the mouse did not work. Otherwise, the product worked just great and I got it at an amazing price for a 12MP camera CCTV system. I contacted the company for a replacement mouse or a refund of £7.00 which was the price of a standard wired PC mouse. The customer service response was prompt and the service that I received was excellent. The company gave me the choice of a replacement mouse or a refund. As per my choice, they quickly refunded my Amazon account with the sum of £10.01 for a replacement mouse. It's a great product and the service from the company was impeccable. I will update the review when I have had the system fully installed and working for a length of time but the quality of the recording and video look outstanding.I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality, high-resolution 12MP CCTV system at a reasonable price and has limited space.

Very good cameras and recording, only one cable to each camera with ethernet cable
This is a very good product apart from 2 things. 2 of the ethernet cables were wrapped to cause kinks, totally unnecessary, and maybe i got bad advice but seems no way of showing a view along the wall the camera is on unless you are prepared to view it sideways. Maybe shouldn't have got dome cameras.

Brilliant bit of kit
Easy to install. The only downside was the camera could be a little bit more secure. But would I recommd it, YES. Clear camera footage.

12Mp Cameras clear 4K 20fps image, quality control & lack of professional support lets them down!
This should have been an excellent buy, cameras provide good image quality and their features are second to none, however god help you if you need support from the company, they wring their hands and tell you you are on your own as they don't have a clue.An example is the camera plate a cast item, painted white, it should have had 3 fixing places, however during manufacturing the process failed and the plate was mal formed or damaged, it then got painted and it's clear that there was no quality control.Another issue is that Reolink support have no idea what the colour codes of their camera cables are should you need to re-connect with an RJ45 connector. They are OK if you don't need help!U P D A T EThe company saw my review and have fully satisfied my concerns and proved to have first class support for customers

A 5-Star System With 3-Star Storage And Software
I should start by saying the system, as sold, is recommended by me despite the shortcomings I will state. It is easy and logical to install and I had it all up and running in about a morning. This is my second Reolink domestic CCTV system, I moved to a new house and left the old system behind for the new owners. The system comes well packed and complete. I know from the old system that the bullet cameras are long lasting (I did have problems with some of the more featured ones). You are supplied with four 18 metre ethernet cables which were more than adequate to reach the front, both sides and the rear of my suburban detached house. The POE (Power Over Ethernet) is a real boon as it negates the need for any additional power supplies. Indeed, once connected to the NVR and it is turned on, you are pretty much done. The system connects to the cameras and starts receiving images. I also connected the NVR to my domestic router so that both my wife and I can access the NVR via the PC application as well as our smartphones using wifi. It is possible to connect the system to the internet so you can remotely access it but I have a natural aversion to opening up my domestic intranet to potential intrusion from outsiders so I do not not allow this. There is very little documentation supplied to set up the system. I'd say you have to be the kind of person who can intuit menu options based on your experience of many types of software. If you are the kind of person who finds smartphone or PC applications confusing, I think you may struggle with the setup of the system. I would class myself as a 'super'-user of PC and smartphone apps and there came a point with my old system where I got it to work (after it stopped allowing me to access it for no apparent reason) I have no idea how I corrected it and once it was running I prayed I never had to do it again. I would say, do not use the PC app (see below) but do everything from your smartphone. In fact, you want to have the smartphone app running so you can go up a ladder, look at the image being streamed and position the camera to taste. The image is good enough.. All those TV programmes where the cops zoom in and see the pimples on the face of their suspects are rubbish. Maybe spy satellites really do see such detail but with the fixed focal length and coverage of these cameras you'll get images good enough to see what is happening but unless people, animals and objects come close you may be disappointed. For surveillance and security I'd say it is adequate and enough of a deterrent.I had a number of technical queries about the system and I have to say Reolink support was excellent. Their answers were thorough and when I asked follow-u[ questions they were handled, too. In fact, the support team even pursued me to ensure I was happy enough to close the support ticket, so well done! This leads into a couple of my gripes. I had picked up in other reviews that the 2TB hard drive installed in the system gave very little storage. I didn't realise how little. I'd run the system for four days and I was close to filling up the disk. I'll need to fiddle with what I am recording and there is perhaps one camera I could turn off except for at night. However, when I opened the case I realised there is only one bay in the NVR. That's OK for one of my 6TB disks (salvaged from a NAS) but I wanted both discs and the only way I can do this is with an external eSata enclosure. Not a pretty solution. Really, at the price I paid, the enclosure should have space for at least 2 drives and should come with at least a 6TB or even 8TG hdd. I am actually surprised that Reolink can even get supply of 2TB hdds,This gripe alone means I would only give the overall system 4-stars, if it weren't for something else. The PC client is a total dog. The smartphone client seems better constructed and perhaps Reolink is trying to cater to the 'Ring'-doorbell generation (a dog of a product, if ever there was one, which was sent back within hours of buying one a couple of years ago) who expect to have realtime, extensive conversations with delivery persons while on another continent. Which is of course rubbish as the latency on most of these systems means your Amazon driver has legged it dropping off your parcel before your doorbell has sent you the image.Anyway, back to the PC client. It looks like a piece of Windows 95 software. Blocky, with an appalling colour scheme. I did ask support if the colour scheme could be changed. For example, the playback controls display thin black lines with blue blocks imposed. Blue on black is difficult for me to see but I wonder if anyone who is colour blind can see any of the visual controls at all? You can magnify the playback 'bar' but it is in my experience of 40+ years of PC applications software, just plain poor. This is a real shame and Reolink could do a lot worse than to (a) open the API so that third parties could supply applications or (b) outsource the development of this software to a company who has the expertise to improve it. It really would be worth doing as it would round out the system completely. For the quality of the software, combined with the mean level of supplied storage for the NVR I feel 3-stars is warranted for this system. Now, bear in mind (a) if you never use the PC app - and only use the smartphone app then it would be a 4-star system and (b) if you don't care if the longest history you will have in the system is maybe 3-4 days, then - happy days - this is a 5-star system to you.Bottom line, if I need another CCTV system or install one for family or friends, then I would definitely purchase a Reolink system, so I do recommend them. Just be aware that it is not without its foibles which may or may not disappoint you in some small way.

Excellent User Interface
5 star all round. Had them up for a month or so now. Great image and great user interface on desktop client, DVR and mobile app (which was something that scared me from trying to install cctv myself with other brands). Was quoted over 2k to install cctv here by "professionals" and not replace any existing cables (which were so bad they were dangerous). Did it with reolink kit myself in maybe half a day for a quarter of the price including all new cables.Chuffed to bits with this kit and would recommend to anyone. Also been in touch with cust services for another product and they were fantastic too. Very impressed!
