YaleKey for Door Security Bolt, Grey, Pack of 1

Not really sure what else to say about this other than it works. Gave us access to our electricity meter for our flay after 6 months not having access, so it's definitely a 5 stars in my books just for that alone!Correct size as advertised, easy to attach to your keys, feels decently sturdy and strong, and I think it was pretty good value for its money.

Good lock worth the money

These are reasonable quality product from a well known brand. The packaging contains all the fixtures and fixings with each component being quite nice quality. The dimensions are true, everything is square and there are no unsightly welds like most of the other generic options on Amazon.For the price difference these are the Security Bolts to buy.They are not perfect though. They key itself is metal and double sided with a grey plastic removable sleeve forming the key shape. This is a nice touch as it allows for it to be flipped around if one end is damaged. The downside of this is the key itself feels a little flimsy.The main issue with this lock are the tolerances. Everything to do the locking actions itself is sloppy with play in every axis which can lead to the possibility of forcing the lock incorrectly.The bottom line these are still the best Security Bolt I have found but still have room for quality improvements. Until I find a lock with tighter tolerances I wouldn't hesitate to buy again or recommend.

Such a simple easy lockReplacement keys were required

Our old bolt key snapped a few months back after 20 years of use. I thought it would be easy to find one that fit our lock perfectly. I was wrong! I bought a solid metal one from our local ironmonger - it was a little too broad to even get in the lock and an hour of filing didn't help. So I ordered another online, This one slipped around in the lock. Finally , I looked online again and saw that Yale made a bolt key. Well, at least I'd heard of them and thought if they can't get it right, I don't know who can. So, after the key that was too big, and the key that was too small, I got the Goldilocks ending of one that was just right and works like a charm. Just right to keep thieving little kids out who are trying to steal porridge.

Fitted at the top and middle of an internal door for extra security. Instructions on fitting and measurements were clear. Very happy.

I would consider myself proficient at DIY but this was a frustrating installation. If you fail to drill into the door perfectly horizontally or the keyhole perfectly perpendicular to the hole the mechanism will bind, and possibly not work. Add to that the key was not long enough for the door in question, but this was solved by cutting some of the plastic off the key to allow it to penetrate deeper.Nothing wrong with the product per se but they make installations sound a lot easier than it is. Be warned.
