It’s been three years, highly recommend
I’m posting this review three years after I purchased the rain guard. I really didnt know how well it would work until my painted item has been exposed to the elements. The sealant really does hold up to its claims. Other exterior sealants did not hold up as well. It has a water like consistency and I initially thought it would not hold up but it has truly proven itself. Does not have a strong smell either. No complaints.

Works
I sealed some acrylic paint on an outside concrete statue....the paint was bubbling up when it rained..I sprayed it with 3 coats of this sealer....the water beads up now...no bubbles anymore....Ill give it additional coats periodically....so far so good..

It actually works!
I had leakage from the outside wall to inside wall (garage) of my house. The house is 23 years old and we're in Florida. My handyman pressure cleaned the outside wall (removed moldy gunk), then put clear acrylic caulking along the edge of the outside wall. Let it dry, then used this Rainguard Sealer along the outside and inside walls. (very important to use the one made for painted surfaces if it's been painted!!). We just had a hurricane with tons of rain... no leaks into the garage! Hooray! This product does work. Important to purchase the correct one (painted versus unpainted) and to let the products dry before applying the next step.

Sticky
I thought that it was going to dry out after a few days but it's been a several weeks, I used it to seal my front porch. It's still sticky. It eats dirt. Feels like I put a coat of honey on it. Do not buy.

bottle came 40% solid
wanted to spruce up my pretty beat up deck and give it an affordable make over and try to make it last. i painted the deck and ordered this. i mixed the hole bottle to a 2 gallon sprayer. the bottle had pretty bad clumps that had to be shaking up. took me close to 45 minutes adding warm water to break it up repeatedly. i needed a long screw driver to break up the bottom. once it was mixed it was good to go. it kept clogging up the sprayer (no clumps) so i just used a paint roller and finish it off with that. i did 3 coats, maybe too much but i want to prolong it as long as i can. so far so good, dried nice, no residue or evidence it was even put on. been on for about 2-3 weeks and we’ve had several rains and it looks great. i’ll need to wait until spring to see how overall rating is… even with the clogging sprayer and 45 minutes shake time i would still buy this again. maybe i got an old batch and sat on shelf too long.

a great bathtub sealer
I used one of those paint kits to make my bathroom counter look similar to granite. The warnings on the container practically forbade using this on a bathtub. I did the bathtub too. I did use extra steps. After multiple coats of clear coat I put on multiple coats of Rain Guard. It works on painted surfaces, right? Well, it’s been a year and there have been no issues with the paint job in the tub. Likely because of this sealant. I’m getting ready to repaint the deck out by the pond. When done it will also get a coat of Rain Guard. I don’t want to have to repaint that deck again next year and I think this is the way to go. I’m really impressed on how it worked out in the tub so it’s got to work well when used as directed.
