This tiny little device is FANTASTIC at lowering the humidity in my 120 gallon bearded dragon enclosure. I live in a very, very humid area and the humidity is often between 70-100% in our house. I originally purchased a bigger dehumidifier to stick next to the enclosure to bring the overall humidity in the room down, but it was still floating around 70% most of the time. This air purifier/dehumidifier drops the humidity within the enclosure to around 33-35% during the day (slightly higher at night when the heat lamps are off). I have it suctioned onto the glass a few inches below the screen (the suction cups hold up great!), and have it running for long periods during the day. It probably does help that I also have the bigger dehumidifier running outside the tank, but without this small one my tank would be way too humid.

That's why I decided to check out the REPTI ZOO Reptile Glass Terrarium Air Purifier. This innovative device not only purifies the air in the terrarium but also helps to control humidity levels, creating an ideal habitat for my reptile.One of the challenges I faced was finding a secure way to install the air purifier in my reptile's custom-built oak habitat. Suction cups were out of the question due to the wood surface, and I didn't want to risk constantly battling with my reptile knocking it over and me having to fix it. So, I came up with a solution that would ensure a stable installation.First, I carefully measured the layout of the suction cup threaded attachment holes on the air purifier. Then, I drilled three holes of identical layout in the desired mounting location of his enclosure, allowing for a 2-inch clearance from the top. To secure the air purifier, I used 2-inch brass sheet metal screws, along with matching nuts, washers, and plastic spacers. I inserted the screws through the holes and added a washer and nut to each on the inside, tightening them just enough to allow the screws to turn freely. Another nut was then added to lock them in place. The spacers were installed, providing just under 1-inch of clearance between the side of the habitat and the air purifier.Installing the air purifier required patience, as each screw had to be tightened no more than 2-3 turns so it wouldn’t bind up. I repeated this process for all the screws in a clockwise direction until the air purifier was firmly seated on the spacers. To ensure a neat and functional setup, I used a small round wood rasp to create a notch in the top of the wooden wall. This allowed the power cable to pass through the wall underneath the hinged lid without getting pinched when the lid is closed. As an extra precaution, I installed a screw-mounted wire clip to prevent the cord from accidentally popping out of the pass-through notch.The results were remarkable. While my reptile's habitat was already well-maintained, there was always a lingering musty smell, likely due to the Cypress Mulch or Coconut Fiber Substrate. Additionally, my reptile had a habit of dumping his water tub, which added to the odor issue. However, with the REPTI ZOO Reptile Glass Terrarium Air Purifier in place, that musty smell has significantly diminished, replaced by a refreshing forest-like scent. It may not completely eliminate the smell of my reptile's droppings, which can be quite pungent, but it certainly helps to dissipate it faster once cleaned up.What sets this air purifier apart is its three types of filtration media: fiber, activated carbon, and photocatalyst filtration in combination w/ UV light source on the filter. Every hour, for 20 minutes, the air in my reptile's habitat, very quietly, I may add, is circulated through these filters, ensuring a constant supply of clean and fresh air. This continuous filtration process provides peace of mind, knowing that my reptile is breathing in purified air around the clock. You can adjust how often and for how long it filtersCautionary Note: One of the primary concerns I’ve encountered was the unavailability of replacement filters. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to find a suitable replacement for this particular air purifier. This realization has left me somewhat regretful of my installation method decision and has made me question whether I should have waited or at least ensured the availability of replacement filter cartridges before proceeding with the installation.In situations like these, where replacement filters are not readily accessible, one might consider backwashing the existing filter as a temporary solution. Backwashing involves reversing the flow of water through the filter to remove any accumulated debris and extend its lifespan. While this technique can buy us some time, it is by no means a long-term solution. A last resort would be to find some Cut-To-Fit filter material close to the same thickness, which I found for the fiber and activated carbon layers, but no such luck yet finding any photocatalyst filter media.In conclusion, despite the concern about replacement filters, I am overall pleased with the REPTI ZOO Reptile Glass Terrarium Air Purifier. At least for now it has transformed my reptile's habitat into a cleaner and more pleasant environment. With its efficient filtration system and secure installation, this air purifier is a valuable addition to any reptile owner's arsenal. Give the gift of fresh air for your scaly companion but I suggest waiting until replacement filters become available.In the event I find a replacement filter source, I will append it to this review and adjust the rating accordingly. My reptile loves it, gives off good airflow and helps with germs, i cant say enough its helped alot

So this is an interesting product.First off, it is quiet. It has a nice timer dongle on the power cable to allow you to cycle it on and off based on time, and it has multiple levels of airflow. It doesn't move much air, but I don't feel like you want the inside of your vivarium to be a wind tunnel either.The air enters through the grate and passes through a paper filter cartridge (like a car air filter). It has an activated carbon layer like a home air filter. Then it passes through a UV-C chamber. UV-C is very harmful and can damage your eyes and skin rapidly! They are using them as a disinfectant to kill pathogens in the airstream. It does have a safety feature that turns off the device when the filter door is removed...but mine failed right away, and I was still able to activate the UV-C LEDs when they were exposed. Seriously, be VERY careful.Speaking of the air filter insert...I can't find any replacements for it? It even says it needs to be changed every 3-6 months, but there isn't any on their website or on Amazon.It is bulky, and takes up a good amount of room. I think they intend it to be used in very large enclosures, such as for dragons, but in an enclosure that large I don't think this has enough airflow. For a smaller vivarium where this amount of air would make a difference, I think it is too bulky. It's in a weird middle ground of not great for either application.The pass-through vent is a cool solution. The design is that of an "air multiplier", so if you can get it away from the wall it will MOVE more air (but not filter it). I had the idea to mount the unit outside of the vivarium using their vent hole option...but you can't change the air intake direction, so the intake grates would be right up against the outside wall of the vivarium, not very acceptable.I do NOT recommend purchasing this until replacement filters become available, and of course it also depends on how affordable they are. This should be taken into account for every type of air filter. As of now I think this is a solution looking for a problem. If you have odor issues I think the root cause needs to be remedied, rather than just sticking in a filter and hoping it can cover up / remove the odor. If your trash can starts to stink do you add an air filter to them, or just take out the trash? I'm sure your pet knows the right answer too.

I wasn’t sure what to expect using this little fan but it has great performance producing a steady gentle breeze. The filtration it uses has made a real difference the smell also. It has simple controls with a well lit digital display that makes it easy to use, and from packaging to setup you can feel the high quality of the device construction and materials. It runs so quiet when I first plugged it in I had to feel to make sure it was actually blowing! If you have an enclosure and your little friend is making it smell funny then this is an excellent value and I can highly recommend.

barely worked at all but when it did work, it worked great for recycling air. cant figure out if it was the timer or the 5$ fan inside but it would almost never start without me tinkering with it every other day
