Q: What is best recommended, the medium or the large?

I purchased a large. I would not recommend this size for backpacking. It takes up a lot of space. Almost the size of a sleeping bag.

Q: Is it supposed to be lumpy?

It's slightly lumpy because they use foam pieces for filling. Once you fluff it up you don't even notice it. I used it on a trip out west and I loved it.

Q: Any plans to move production from China?

I don't want the price to double. There are many similar products, I shop based on price.
