Q: I have a squirrel living in attic, do you think he might move out into nut house. He has to go!

Couldn’t guarantee that your house guest will move out but this is a nice private squirrel house. Bought for a friend and she immediately had several squirrels take up residence.

Q: How high should it be mounted?

I have four now from 15 to 23 feet. Never knew if they would be used....I had to turn on a no vacancy sign, all occupied with 2-4 in each. By the way, I just received my fifth house last week. I guess I’ll be turning the sign off for a short time.

Q: what is the dimension of the bottom floor? How is the door removed?

The floor is the same as the inside dimensions in the description: 8x8.25. The front panel (the panel with the writing) may be lifted up by removing the bottom screw. We recommend closing the panel and putting the screw back into place when you are done to prevent the squirrels from falling out, injuring themselves, or allowing access to predators.

Q: I don’t have any large trees to mount this on. Would my wild squirrels use it if I just put in on the ground in the corner of the back yard?

I doubt that they would use it on the ground. It would be hard to escape from predators. I mounted mine on one of my deck posts. I also have a squirrel feeder mounted underneath it. I get a lot of squirrel activity there even though I have a dog that likes to chase them.
