The Tried & True Cookbook

This is a cookbook written by someone who actually cooks and shares her knowledge clearly. The pictures are enough to make your mouth water. Nothing overly complicated, some more time consuming than others; however since cooking for me is a fun activity that isn't a problem. The book is beautifully made, it is heavy which is somewhat of a drawback as I've lost much of my hand strength with age. If it were spiral bound that would be a major plus, but don't let that deter you from purchasing a cookbook that will delight anyone who loves to cook.

I keep this cookbook sitting on the table or counter, and it never fails when someone comes over to my house, they pick it up, flip through a few pages, and then ask if they can sit down and look at it for a while! The recipes are recipes you will really make. The quality of the book is nice, the photographs are lovely, the recipes are easy to follow. Everything you want in a cookbook.

It had some great everyday recipes. Perfect for a novice or someone who wants to keep it simple.

I cook many recipes from Alyssa's blog, The Recipe Critic, so I was very excited to support her and get her new cookbook. While it is beautifully written and photographed, I'm awfully disappointed that only 25 of the 150 recipes are new. The remaining 125 recipes are from her blog, including a QR code to link back to the blog.

Each page has one recipe, a full page photo,a review and notes to help make dish perfect.

I have used this cookbook so many times and made so many of the recipes and they all come out spectacular. Easy to follow. I recommend it five stars!! Love it!

Great cookbook! Recipes with ingredients that I usually have. Bought 4 more as gifts!

A recipe that includes a bunch of cans? Most of these recipes you already know. There are a handful of original recipes. You could easily get these recipes on the internet. If this is your first cookbook ever, by all means, buy it.
