THIS SLICER IS INCREDIBLE!
My homemade bread machine loaf of bread fit in it just right, a tiny bit snug, which prevented the loaf from wiggling around when I sliced it. It has a little groove in the bottom of the slicing tray for the knife to go into after it slices through the depth of the bread to prevent the plastic from getting sliced. I had returned a bamboo one that the bread was way to loose in and my knife cut into the bamboo after it cut through the loaf. This is incredibly easy to use, clean, and works great and folds for storage. Finally found a perfect little slicer that takes up very little room in my kitchen and cuts perfect slices. Love it and highly recommend it.

Does the job.
I was having trouble slicing my bread in uniform sandwich size slices. I like this bread slicer because it solved this problem. I kind of have to push it against the side of a cabinet to keep it from slipping. I put a little piece of rubber rug padding under it which helps. It takes some practice to make it work right. I like that it folds up to fit in drawer. Not perfect, but I would definitely buy again because it does the job.

Nice Slice
It's simple and easy to use and does exactly what it's supposed to. It's definitely one slice at a time so it may not be very efficient in a home with a lot of people. But for smaller households it's excellent.

(Barely) better than slicing it on my own
So my slices are more uniform than when I try to slice my homemade bread on my own, but it's a struggle to get there. It's very flimsy, and I have to use one hand to push the bread securely against the unit, one hand to hold the unit so it doesn't slide around, and one hand to use the knife to slice. Wait, I only have two hands.... and there's the issue. Slicing bread with this is a 2-man job. I have to enlist my husband to hold the slicer while I do the slicing. On the plus side, I like that is compact, which means I have to remove the loaf after each slice to fetch the slice out. Compact wins on that issue. My bread is from a bread machine, and the loaf just barely fits (very snug) width-wise. But it fits, so it's fine. I'll keep using it because, despite its shortcomings, it does actually give me more uniform slices for sandwiches than free-slicing.

Dislike this very much
The only good thing about this is that it folds up nicely for storage. The sides aren’t adjustable, so woe to the person who doesn’t bake their bread to that exact dimension. The section you put the knife in to slice the bread is flimsy, it spends a good portion of the time snagging on your knife. After each slice, you have to fight the knife back out of the slat and remove the loaf to extract the one slice you just did in order to slice the next piece. The placement of the foldable bit means you have to be a contortionist to use this easily. You have to hold the bread in place, putting pressure on the end of the loaf to keep it seated firmly against the backboard, while applying downward pressure to keep the whole shebang in place with one hand while your other hand fights to get the knife into the slot to slice. It’s pretty unwieldy to use.If you’re single and prefer to just do a slice or two at a time when needed, this might be an ok thing to have. If you have a family and you just slice the loaves up all at once, this is far more hassle than what it’s worth. Unless you like the feeling of wanting to pitch the whole thing against the wall in frustration. If that’s the case, knock yourself out and buy this sucker, because you WILL want to throw this thing every time you use it!

Easy even slices
Does what it should. Only downside is that your bread must be in loaf shape to fit.I had been baking boule (round loaves) but for this to work I had to get a loaf pan to bake in a rectangle. It is worth it if you use your bread for everyday (as opposed to entertaining). I can now make even slices in a number of different thicknesses. The fact this easily folds up when not in use is a bonus

Flimsy and under-size, but workable
On the plus side, I really liked that this folds up for storage in my tiny kitchen.I saw reviews saying it was too small, not tall enough for the loaf. I figured I'd take a chance on that, seeing as I slice from the bottom of the loaf it's vertical clearance (6-3/16 inches) shouldn't matter. Well, the height didn't matter, but it turns out the thing is about a quarter inch narrower than my bread machine pan is wide. The slicer clearance side to side is 4-5/8 inches. As I don't let the bread crust get hard, with a bit of doing I'm able to work with it by squeezing the loaf in.As for the reviews talking about flimsiness, I figured I'd just be gentle with it and there would be no problem. And their wasn't, until gravity struck and it took the inevitable fall off the kitchen counter as most kitchen tools do at least once. And that once was enough to break off one of the tiny plastic pins that someone thought would make an adequate hinge. ...It doesn't.I'm able to live with it still, though it requires more dexterity to press the bread against the backstop while trying not to dislodge the bottom part. This would have been a 4 star review were it not for the under-engineered hinge.

Perfect!
No space for storage of large slicer, didn't want to spend much for a slicer, I looked for alternatives. Lucked up on this slicer and so glad I did. Small, afordable, neat, does exactly what I wanted it to do and more. Yes, it's plastic and just a tad flimsy but just hold firmly when slicing and you get a perfect slice everytime. Loaf seemed too wide to fit in the opening to slice. Squeezed it a bit and it worked, making slicing steadier and more uniform. My only wish is that it came in a thin wood option to match my cutting board. Either way I'd buy it, highly recommend it, and would buy again as is.
