Ideal gift for a three year old numberbock fan

Ordered for my 3 year old who loves counting and actually likes the number blocks too from when we have watched them on Cbeebies. Now, this took a bit of setting up initially, a lot of putting stickers on things and clicking blocks together to make the little pen but it was all simple enough and even with my son "helping" took maybe only 20 minutes.I expected this to have a "game" element to it as it came with a dice etc but it isn't a game its just a selection of items that you could use to teach counting. There is a selection of suggested things you can do with the sheep and the number blocks but ultimately they are all the same, just taking the sheep and blocks in and out of the pen or diving up the sheep into either side of the pen etc. My son enjoyed matching the numbers on the sheep to the colour blocks but then lost interest once he realised there was no competitive element.There are a a lot of small losable pieces here too including the little plastic numbers you can put on top of the number blocks.Number block number 6 comes as 6 different stickers that you place over 2x stacks of 3 and its very awkward to play with him like the rest as he comes apart a lot.On a positive note, the sheep are REALLY cute and you get some fun little activity cards to solve easy sums. Its a decent enough learning tool but overpriced at £20 in my opinion.

Bought for a maths mad 3 year old. He really enjoyed matching the sheep with the brightly coloured cubes and likes making the different number blocks with the cubes. Really easy to put together, my son did it! Great toy with lots of educational factors in it. It also comes with a book with some tips of how to talk maths / play using the kit which is helpful. There are lots of tiny pieces so I wouldn't recommend it for under 3s or if you have a toddler who puts things in their mouth.
