This encoder is quite impressive! This is the right one
TLDR;Encoder is easy to use, feature packed, reliable, well built and customer service is extremely helpful! I wouldn’t buy an encoder from any other brand going forward.Full review;I had purchased an HDMI encoder from another brand that was advertised to work with VLC. Spoiler alert it didn’t work with VLC player well at all! This uRay encoder is high quality and just works, very simple to use, it streams reliably and has every setting I could think of.Customer service is very responsive to questions and request for assistance. I was curious about the API this device uses and they were able to help me formulate an API call to change the setting I was looking to change. Most other AV companies don’t provide such a high-level of customer service and it’s so great that they provide awesome customer service like this. One thing to be aware of; so far I have only been able to get L-PCM 2 channel stereo audio working with the HDMI encoder. I’ll probably have to down-mix my Dolby 5.1 bitstream audio to 2 channel stereo, not a dealbreaker and I’m not taking off any stars for this since it’s easily fixable on my end and I have not even asked customer support about it yet. I’m sure they would go above and beyond to help anyway they can!All around a great product, great company and good people!

Solid encoder for our RTMP streaming
We use a couple of these for streaming church services. It has been very reliable for our RTMP streaming and has been easy to teach everyone how to use it. The video and audio quality is great. It's nice that it has audio options for either HDMI or 3.5mm analog. It's nice how fast the encoder boots up and reboots (it only takes seconds, not several minutes like some other encoders I have used). Their support was quick to respond to emails. My only complaint was a small annoyance with the web UI but I contacted their support and the latest firmware resolves the issue. (If your encoder has "reboot" and "reset" options right next to each other, get the latest update so you have "reboot", "schedule reboot", and "factory reset" options).

Low resolution is fine
Works as documented but found it struggles with 1920x1080p full frame rate source. Was necessary to drop to much lower quality and lower frame rate.

Great Device, Excellent Value
I use this Uray HDMI Encoder to extend my cable throughout my house via cat 5 ethernet cable. My cable box is centrally located and controlled with a wi-fi remote control. I feed the hdmi from set top box to the encoder then from encoder to network switch where it is distributed around the house and decoded by any device with VLC player (**Samsung TVs do not offer VLC for some inconvenient reason). The picture quality seems perfect with 1080p @ 60fps. The lag is a very acceptable 1/2 second or so and the unit is not warm and sits around 6% CPU for this single stream operation.I have read reviews which complain about setting this unit up on the network but the instructions that come with it are very easy to follow. Maybe some more instructions on the settings could come in handy but a few quick google searches had me up and running in no time.I reached out to customer service with some issues but they turned out to be my problems with vlc and not the device. Linda was very responsive and helpful. All in all this is a great device for my purposes. Great picture, easy to use, excellent customer service and exceptional value. Highly recommended!

Great Encoder for SRT support!
This is a great encoder! I am using it to send a 25 mb/s SRT stream into AWS Media Services and it is rock solid. I needed to reach out to support to get new firmware. I had the update file within about 6 hours and it was an easy update.Encoder is easy to setup and just keeps running.

Solid Encoder great for meetings under 2 hours
I have been using this encoder for 18 months plus, and I purchased a second one which upgraded the Ip user interface with a live video feedback from the encoder. They both work well although interfacing with them is a little tough because the user manual is not clear. However it is clear enough to get started. They are work horses but they are especially sensitive to fluctuations in bandwidth. They work without fail as long as your internet connection is stable which is generally for about 1 to 2 hours before your ISP cycles the connection.Nonetheless, if you don’t lose your bandwidth completely they will recover the signal with some refreshing of your browser and your monitoring points. If you use it with a Big online video support CDN like Vimeo or YouTube, you’ll likely lose the live event on those platforms and have to reinitiate a live event in those interfaces.I purchased a more expensive brand of encoder and it performed worse than my U-ray encoders. These encoders are reliable but they don’t reinitiate contact with the streaming CDN after a lose of bandwidth on their own. You are better to connect them to a small CDN where you have more access to controls so when bandwidth is lost for a short time, when it returns you can reconnect with the U-ray coder from the CDN interface. An automatic reconnection process would be a good upgrade for this device. So it automatically retries to connect when bandwidth fails and returns. Also recording on-site is the solution to loss of bandwidth because the cloud recording will have the gaps and poor quality from the Internet drops.Overall I recommend these encoders for use with Fiber connections which do not suffer from ISP cycling or for meetings which last for less than 2 hours before a break where you can power cycle these devices every 1 to 2 hours to reestablish connection to your CDN.
