This was one of my favorite stories as a child. Heidi's delight and strong reactions to new things and the beauty of nature are heartwarming.I especially enjoy reading about the affection between Heidi and the older characters "She did not want to miss the chance to make the grandmother's heart joyful and light". She's such a loving and caring child.This book is a beautiful reminder of the blessings to both the young and elderly when quality time is spent together. Not forgetting the precious friendship she and Clara had.Includes an interesting and informative analogy.Heidi is a timeless classic with a Christian message, that is a must-read.

And Heidi is a good example for our you girls growing up! In addition there is a new section on the Swiss Alps, which is where Heidi ends up staying with her cantankerous grandfather. Always good to have the history of what the place was, as well as the culture. Helps us better understand the story and what the characters are going through.
