We really like this. It’s made the litter box aspect of having kitties much more pleasant.It took our older cat a week to start using it. The younger one took to it immediately. We are using crushed walnut shell clumping litter, and it does a great job.You do not have to use their app. It works great with the Smart Life app, which immediately recognized the “automated litter box”. Besides monitoring use, it allows you to set the delay before automatic cleaning occurs. This allows the litter to clump a little better. You can also control how often the ionic deodorizer turns on. It does a very good job of controlling odor in conjunction with the litter.Pros:- Sturdy design. - Easy setup- Quiet. - Easy low entry for older cats- Comes complete with all accessories needed including a catch mat.Cons:Nothing serious really- It is quite large – so if space is an issue you want to be aware it is about 26” wide , 24” tall, and 24” deep.- There have been some problems with the clumped litter sticking to the drum. I gave it a light coat of cooking oil and then wiped it down. This seems to have less than the problem.- You should lift the drum occasionally and inspect to see if there is any litter that has gotten underneath it.

These litterboxes are awesome so far. Simple to operate, easy to care for. They leak a small amount of litter under the drum (and I mean a very small amount) that will have to be taken care of with the monthly change of litter. We use less litter and 99% of the time there is no smell. Ionizer does a fantastic job. Plastic grocery bags work just fine for us as liners for the catch bin. Little cleaning needed for the drums

Very easy to set up but wish it allowed more litter as my cats love to dig. Only one of my cats has tried to use it. Hopefully over time they will prefer it as it’s amazing to just forget about scooping and check the bag every so often.

I have had two of the $500-$800 ones and they are heavy and bulky. They broke often. I needed one this size to accommodate 3 cats (one is 11lbs). It has plenty of room for them.I particularly like this one for the price, safety features & technology. I love that the drum is lightweight plastic and is easily removed from the base for cleaning and for adding litter. The dirty litter goes into a deep slideout box on the side, also easy to clean. I really like how streamlined the whole unit is shaped. They did not waste an inch of space but it does not take up much more room than a regular large cat box.A big bonus is the robust app. It tells you what time they entered the unit, the weight of the cat & how long it was in there. It also alerts you of abnormal usage. (Not sure what that includes). You can customize settings to align with your cats needs straight from your phone or device.To clean it spins (once or twice if you choose) and then uses an ionic deodorizing feature to finish.For safety, it has a great infrared safety feature that stops any cleaning processes if it detects a cat within a foot of the opening or in it. Then it gives a 10 second delay before resuming. One of my cats was obsessed with it and would jump in and out to watch it spin. He did this for hours. My 12 week old kitten was also fascinated and I loved how it detected her despite her small size. She barely makes the 2 lb weight minimum and it stops whenever she’s near.The only con I’ve found is the included matt to stop litter tracking slides all over the floor. You cannot put it under the machine per the instructions so I got some anti slip tape. Also I do wish the opening was covered or not quite as large. Despite the anti tracking mat, a small amount of litter is still getting on the floor. I have hardwoods and it’s a little irritating. Not horrible but wish it would stay on the mat. We’ve used the same kind of mat for a long time with great success so I’ve not narrowed down how it’s getting out. Again, it’s not a large amount and does not detract from how much I like this unit compared to my old one.When the electric box finally died for the last time, I just gave up & went with a large cover but regular litter box. With three cats, I had to clean it every day and even then it would start smelling in the evening. Since getting this box I’ve not smelled it at all. Whatever ionic technology it’s using really works.

When it worked, it worked great. However, I bought it in December 2024 and it just stopped working in April. It lasted 4 months.

I rarely write reviews, but I just had to take the time to share how helpful this litter box is! I researched dozens of models at different price points an I am so happy that we settled on this one. It is a simple setup and really easy to maintain. I was surprised by the lack of instructions at first, but I quickly learned that it is because it is that easy of a product to use. Once you set it up, fill with litter and plug it in, all you do is pull out the drawer, tie up the trash bags and throw the used litter in the trash! I have 2 cats and one of them used it within the first day, where the other one took a few days to get used to it. If your cats haven't used a self-cleaning litter box before, I would recommend keeping your other litter box as a back up in the beginning. Because this one self-cleans, I think my cats eventually just gravitated to this one because it is the cleaner option for them. I was able to phase out my old litter box within the week.The app is somewhat generic and overly simplistic, but it gets the job done. I can see frequency of cats' usage on the app - and it even weighs the cat when they go in, so I can easily tell which cat used it. The only other thing I would recommend is be sure to empty it frequently, as the smell can get quite powerful from the litter tray part if you forget. This is definitely a must have product for me!
