Good bits but go slow or they will break and use in only soft metals or just drill your hole and take it out of the chuck and hand tap.

I broke one being too aggressive. Lesson learned!When carefully using these bits, they're fantastic.

I can't say how well these would work in metal, but they work just fine in ABS, PLA, and PC plastic parts and a piece of wood I tried it in. For thin metal they'd probably be fine with slow speed and cutting fluid, but at <$6, you could buy a couple sets to have spares if it doesn't work out so well.There is no case, but I just keep them in the little plastic bag they came in.

I was not sure these would be usable but figured I'd give them a try (as a backup to an actual tap someone else ordered). Turns out I was right. First use on a piece of scrap metal, the drill portion barely drilled - I had to use a real bit to drill a pilot hole. Then when using this again, the instant the tap section dug in, it snapped. Glad i tried it on some scrap first.

That is what I use them for, so I can't comment to other tasks. I use them on thin gauge steel mostly and they get the job done without any fuss.

I have not used them yet.I thought I might need them to tap some harder metaland I have managed to avoid having to do that.BUT, their description says for wood, plastic, and soft metals which I assumeprobably means not much harder than aluminum.I am hoping I can at least use them as thread chasers for harder metals.Maybe I will find out some day.

Got this set to thread screws for some of my woodworking and other projects. They work well and feel good quality of material. They come loose in a bag which is a packaging miss in my opinion but doesn't take away from the product. Just weird to have bits loose in a bag.
