Any artist that is working apart from a private or group studio that hires models should seriously consider buying Virtual Pose 3. If you want access to models that never take breaks, never complain about long hours and are readily available 24/7, look no further. I mean where are you going to find subjects (and subjects that are proportionately pleasing to the eye, no less) to study the structure of human anatomy - in the round - at such an unbelievably low price???If you're confused about zooming to a particular area of the body, read the instructions in the hardback book, and if that's not enough read "dramaqueen"'s review from February 20, 2005 here on Amazon. She will spell it out in detail for you. Very nicely done too, I might add.Despite having some minor pixelation of the photos at full zoom, I can't find any fault in this resource. This whole "censorship" issue is silly in my opinion. I would rather concentrate on the form itself, instead of particular details that would be more suited to a scientific study/drawing, rather than a work of fine art.If you're serious about studying the human form, and need a model in your traditional or digital paintbox, check out Virtual Pose 3.

2を先に買いましたが前回と違ってオールカラーになっています。印刷の質も向上しています。本誌の構成は本(ほぼ正方形？)にCD-ROMが付属し、1ページに1ポーズ水平6方向の縦10cm程の写真が6枚ずつ。CDにも同じポーズが収められてますが横回転出来、本誌の6方向よりかなり細かく回転出来ます(画像枚数が多い)。前回と同様です。白人女性数人、中年男性・青年男性各一人ずつ。ポーズ自体のページは70p。CD-ROMの方は閲覧ソフトは無くなり、.movファイルでの閲覧がデフォルトになった様です。閲覧ソフトが重かったので元々使っていませんが。.mov画像の方は前回よりかなり解像度が上がっています。(2倍以上)本誌同様カラーです。本誌印刷の質の向上、オールカラー化、CD収録画像の解像度が大幅に上がっていますが、個人的にはポーズやモデルの好みが2より良く無かったのでプラスマイナス差し引いて前回より少々点を上げて80点といったところ。しかし同系ポーズ集の中ではかなり良質の物だと思います。

Great book for figure drawing. I used this for my class for both gesture and fully-rendered drawings. The poses are classical and modern and all are interesting. It was recommended to me by my professor and I'm very glad I have it because along with the DVD, which shows each model in 360 degrees, it's a very useful reference.

Cet ouvrage présente une série de nus académiques, féminins et masculins, imprimés à la fois sur papier et gravés sur un DVD joint au livre.La variété des poses est importantes, les modèles sont divers et plutôt bien choisis, et le choix du format vidéo au niveau du DVD permet de faire "pivoter" virtuellement les modèles sur eux-mêmes, ce qui conduit à une grande variété de poses. En théorie...Car ce format vidéo a un gros inconvénient si l'on veut enregistrer sur le disque dur (ou imprimer) un modèle précis dans une pose précise: il est impossible de faire un arrêt sur image pendant la rotation des modèles, la séquence se déroule en entier sans qu'on puisse sélectionner telle ou telle pose.Autrement dit, pour les montages photos, ce livre-DVD reste très peu utilisable. Pour les peintres ou dessinateurs, l'inconvénient est le même.Un produit médiocre, au total, gadget plus qu'autre chose, il aurait mieux valu proposer un format photo (JPEG ou autres), qui offrirait beaucoup plus de souplesse au niveau de l'ordinateur. Je déconseille formellement cet article.
