I've been using this for over a month now to give it a full and proper test. Having never used this kind of product before I was very interested to see if it lived up to the sale pitch of the listing.I'm happy to say it surpassed my expectations. Not only did it assist with some cables runs I needed to do but it also allowed me to save a vast amount of money from having to bring in a builder to do a job that ultimately I was able to perform myself because of the aid of this device.Set up wise, it is so straightforward that you don't need any real technical knowledge in order to get it up and running. I used it with the included mount for my tripod and this gave a nice stable picture. The case it comes with is perfect for keeping it protected. I can thoroughly recommend this thermal camera. It really will save you time and money.

** HIKMICRO MiniX Thermal Imager.A well presented, thought out and manufactured product. It comes supplied with its own zip case containing the camera, a bracket for mounting to a standard UNC ¼” 20 tripod fitting - also with magnets moulded in for panel mounting, a spring-loaded adjustable mobile phone clamp and a USB-C to USB-C / USB-A universal lead for charging, data transfer etc, all included. There's a nice little touch with a small loose separator in the case to prevent the camera and tripod mount assembly rubbing together during transport and isolate the magnets from the camera electronics.I've found the HIKMICRO app to be good and stable but - for me - maybe a little too much information is available on the main screen that could possibly be hidden once you've gone through your initial setup process.The app was quick to find the HIK camera and connect it to my Motorola phone.I'd like to see the option to take stills on a timed interval setting rather than manually clicking or taking a whole video and having to scroll through to the required part. Useful on something that's very slow to heat or cool.I recommend using the free HIKMICRO Analyzer software, it allows for deeper analysis of images and will simplify any presentation to your customers by allowing you to just select the data you want to present. There's also a nice option in the app to attach a photo or video to a preformatted report on which you can enter basic site & customer details before sharing it or storing it.The manual focus can be a little fiddly if you work in gloves.This is a very solidly built, quality product that produces excellent thermal images and video in a compact, convenient form factor. It does everything I want it to do.If you're an HVAC engineer and don't have a thermal imaging camera, you're missing out ! Having previously used a handheld version of HikMicro, the kind with a built in screen on a scanner gun I kinda knew the level of quality to expect when picking up this item. Solid build quality again and from tests with things around the house such as frying pan, kettle, cup of coffee and a radiator the heat and cold detection is like previously only this time through your phone. Can be set to detect temperature range and/or by focusing the cross hare in the app on the area you are wanting to get a reading of.With included mouth you can attach to the back of your phone or thanks to the 1/4 screw thread on the based of the camera it can also be tripod mounted (handy for walk throughs of people for example to detect temperatures in medical areas). Camera quickly connected to my phone via WIFI, so you will have to revert to data plan for any saving, upload or general use of Internet while it’s connected to your phone. The app is a little clunky but apps do improve the more feedback is given so I can’t really fault it on this, a big bug bare for some will be the lack of landscape support for those using a tablet.Overall a well thought out and quality piece of kit, that I would say is an improvement on handheld scanner gun versions as you can snapshot and take video footage of the thermal checking through your phone.
