I am really happy with this phone
I've been using iPhones for the last 8 years or so and was in need of a temporary backup phone, so I decided to go for a phone at the affordable end of the market. The phone is light and comes with a lot of standard features (office, mail, satnav and more), it supports 2 sim cards and is well designed (although it doesn't feel as robust as an iPhone)The Windows 10 user interface works extremely well and I find it slicker than iOS (on iPhone 7), also because of the really smooth performance. The downside is the availability and quality of 3rd party apps, and the battery life (lasts about a day). Other than that, I am really happy with this phone :-)

As a replacement for the Lumia 640, the 650 is a mixed bag, but good overall.
I broke my Microsoft Lumia 640 and, after some deliberation, went for the newer 650 model. I really liked the 640 (using Windows 8.1) so really just wanted more of the same. The 650 is better in some respects and worse in others, but overall I'm reasonably happy and would recommend.Upsides- More stable with Windows 10 - I get less of the crashes I got with Windows 8.1, particularly with the Edge browser, which works better.- Better screen - really clear and bold, and the screen surface feels better to touch.- Significantly slimmer and lighter than the 640.- Camera performs better, and front-facing camera is now like a proper camera too (unlike the rubbish blurry one on the 640).Downsides- The battery life is worse than the 640. Not surprising as the battery is 2000mAh compared to 2500mAh for the 640. It lasts a full day, which is good, but I now need to charge every night. With the 640 I could usually get away with charging every other night.- No more HERE Maps. You get the Microsoft Maps app, which is decent but not as good as the HERE Maps app as a satnav.- No obvious boost in performance, which you might expect in a new model - it is about as quick as the 640, which is very good, to be fair.- For some reason unknown to me, WhatsApp is now really slow to load - this maybe not be entirely the phone's fault but it is annoying when you want to quickly check a message.

OS not supported
The operating system in no longer supported by Microsoft, so the phone is insecure. It also has a version of Microsoft Office, which is a waste of space (and money!) on a phone. If you don't mind those shortcomings, fine - it works well as a phone (calls, text, alarm, calendar, weather apps, etc.) but only buy if it's very very cheap.

more like android, cannot access google or my SD card.
I have just received a Microsoft Lumia. I have a laptop, a Linx windows tablet, an archos android phone. I'm no computer expert, but Ive used windows for over 10 years. I was expecting to get a windows10 working system similar to my Linx windows10 tablet, but this phone [mini tablet] is totally different and much more like android, that I do not get on with. Its covered in apps but I can't even find my micro SD card to view photos !!!! and where is Google? cant find it, so I hav'nt been able to locate my gmail!!........theres so much unnecessary stuff, it's crammed with gadgets you don't need, but the main items, access to internet via google are not obvious even the very easy calendar on my Linx windows10 is not there!!! I cant even open my photos. Its just full of gimmicks like android. I am very disappointed.

2 steps backwards
I bought the Lumia 650 after getting my Lumia 630 wet while kayaking. The 630 was far superior to the 650 and I still sorely miss it! The 650 seems to have a mind of its own, with apps crashing eg. to launch the new facebook app I need to attempt 3 or 4 times. The contacts list does not sync facebook contacts but only skype contacts. Finally, it tells me that a contact phoned when in fact it would have been another. When driving using the the Maps / direction app, it must always attempt to say the name of the street and I can't figure out how to disable that. It is truly messed up, say I have a contact with no 79123456 and another with no 21123456, it will not distinguish between the two and mix them up. On a positive note, the camera and its app are better.

Great no frills phone
My first experience with a Windows 10 phone and its surprisingly easy to adapt to! The phone and WiFi functions seem to work extremely well, and the installed Apps do their job well too. I did have some trouble with the phone jack - it stopped working after I tried out a Radio app from the store, but after a hard reset everything was back to normal. Seemingly aimed at businesses rather than consumers, this model doesn't have all the frills of an expensive 'consumer delight' phone, but it does the basics very well. At the price, good value for money! Dual SIM does the job, though BT's mobile app would not recognise its SIM until I had temporarily removed the second SIM. Once the (single) BT SIM was recognised, the BT mobile app continued to work fine with the second SIM reinstalled.

Ideal phone for those on a tighter budget
Bought this phone for younger member of the family. Excellent 5" screen, easy operating system, does the job we need it to. Also allows easy family administration via Microsoft Family settings, allowing website restriction and purchase restriction as needed. having this feature without needing third party apps is a true bonus. Integrates with Xbox Live seamlessly, which is great as he has an Xbox :-)Only thing missing is the lack of 5G wireless, but 2.4G is adequate for a phone of this price range. We are not utilising the second SIM slot at the moment but if you do require a dual SIM phone this works great, as it accept and makes calls on both SIMS without the need to reboot the phone to switch. It uses one SIM as the master for calls, messages and data, the second SIM is calls and SMS only. For the price you are getting bang for your buck.
