Twigs In Water Is All I’ve Gotten From This…
to start off, I will definitely have to pay better attention to my middle of the night purchases! I searched for bamboo, as that is what I wanted but while skimming the star review numbers, this option showed in the feed. with such great reviews, I made the purchase and my package arrived, expeditiously — with no damage to the treelings (as we were still in 110 degree weather). I read all of the literature provided as well, scanned the QR code provided with the literature (this is when I discovered I had not purchased bamboo, nonetheless, these willows I received were shown to provide privacy and shade which is what I wanted). I followed the instructions, placing them in water and … they never rooted. two started shooting thorn-like sprouts then nothing.I just ended up with twigs in water! they never went dry nor were they in direct heat or light. even though I purchased outside of what I wanted, I was pretty excited for them to begin sprouting up but that did not happen. I have waited to write this review because I received these September 5th. our weather remained hot and now, on October 30th is flipping to 40 degrees. that said, I considered the timing in which I purchased these to begin planting, why I paused the review. I did buy the 10 set, receiving three extra however, only 7 were healthy size and the others were very thin so I assumed the extra three made up for the tiny 3 of 10.in all ways I dice it, this was not a favorable purchase for me. if between now and, let’s say… next spring, things turn around, I will update my review.

Slower Growing than Expected
So I ordered a 10-pack, got 14 and put them in mason jars of fresh spring water until they sprouted. Then I planted them which is in a swampy area. That was 3 months ago, they're just not growing fast like they should. I had also cloned regular weeping willow trees this spring and planted them behind the Austree willow trees so I'd have a double-boundary of the willow trees, especially given the relatively short lifespan of an Austree willow. Right now I can't tell much difference in the trees (which were all planted within a week of eachother). They're all about 1' tall but the Austree in theory should be growing much faster than a regular weeping willow. Time will tell I guess. But hey, all 14 are alive and growing.

These will be great someday... If they survive
9/16/2022 Update: OK, so now that I've had these a couple more months (and placed several more orders) I wanted to update my review. I bought 10 of these the 1st order, I received 11. All rooted. I placed a 2nd order for 10 more, I received 12. Not all of them rooted, and by this time, some of the 1st batch began dying/rotting. I placed yet ANOTHER order from the same seller, for 24 of the jumbo cuttings, thinking I would have a higher chance of success with them. By the time I received that order, more of the 1st order and some of the 2nd order had died. Some didn't even root... just turned to mush in their cups. As of today, I have lost about half total (including the jumbo sticks) to some weird white fungal disease that seems to be slowly spreading. I took those from their soil to find they were literally MOLDING below the surface. I bought some organic spray to try to save the ones I have left. I don't know if it was user error (I followed the directions word for word) or maybe I got a bad batch of branches, but I have spent a lot of time and money to end up being not-so-impressed. I did start planting a few in the ground from the 1st order that have begun outgrowing their peat pots, so I will hopefully end up with a small privacy barrier. It won't be 54 trees like I had hoped, but I will continue trying my best!7/3/2022 Update: I've had these in water for 6 days and i added a pic of the difference already. I do have 2 duds, but I did receive 12 instead of 10 so I figure I haven't lost anything. So far, so good!!These were delivered 8 days after ordering (in as perfect condition as sticks can be lol) and wouldn't you know it... just wrapped in a wet paper towel these little guys sprouted already!! Im hoping thats a good indication that these will all be succesful trees if they are able to grow wrapped in a plastic bag. These came with printed instructions and after reading a bunch of reviews, I'm placing in water to establish roots. I'm taking a chance in hopes that the roots will shoot before fall so I bought compostable peat pots to transfer them to so I can transplant before the ground freezes. I will update along their journey 😊
