Filled with ideas for a carver entering a new field of carving canes.
Thought to expand my carving skills. Brand new area for me [canes] provides 3 and 4 views so you can see carving in the "round" easier. Clear pictures, with 125% expanded views for study. Selection of Cane wood in the field, time of year, and area in USA most likely to find. Lots of good info, good advice, and demo pictures on prepping Branch / Tree for becoming a cane / staff, and suggestion's for what to put on as a cane topper. Yes I liked it and am sending a copy to a Friend.

Yes! Tes! Yes! Buy it! Own and careful who you lend it too
Finally a carving book with actual instructions and information.got here 45 minutes ago already learned more than the three previous carving books I've read. Talks about wood types, how to prep, hey you know those cool cane toppers? Made out of basswood and then added and this book includes instruction and tips. Learned a ton and I'm only on page 27! Thx Lora! Great read

Very informational
This was very well done. Enjoyed reading it, and I’ll use some of the pointers out of it. Thank you. It was fair for the price.

Great book! Teaches the basics of face making step by step. Once you get that down you’re pretty much good to go. Just add in some personal touches. There are patterns in the back!

Great book!!
I really love this book. I have purchased several books on this subject, and up until now have regretted every one. Thank the Lord I decided to buy one more. This book has everything in it that I wanted/needed with lots of helpful information. And, I’ve not even gotten to the patterns and carving instructions. The last book I bought had a total of 6 steps to carve a head and face. That just doesn’t work for me. This book has plenty of steps, with detailed instructions.
